CALGUNS THESEUS OPEN CARRY LEGAL DEFENSE FUND!!!!
 There are those who talk and those who do. CALGUNNERS DO! And one of our own needs your help. The Calguns Foundation has started a Legal Defense fund where you can donate to this cause. Theseus has been unloaded open carrying for the better part of a year in East LA County, an area known for violent gang crimes and assaults against peaceful law abiding (but unarmed) citizens. He has carried in compliance with ALL state laws to be able to defend his young wife and daughter as every free American has a Right to do. He has also shown and proven that it can be done responsibly and that the public doesn't react with panic and terror at the mere sight of a peacefully holstered sidearm. Theseus has been charged with but did not violate the School Zone gun prohibition. He has always been very careful to stay within the law (a Calguns specialty  ) When he was contacted by police he was not arrested as his possession was legal.It was not until the police went back 3 DAYS LATER WITH A MEASURING DEVICE did the officers realize that it was even within 1000' of a school. THE POLICE DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT WAS IN A "SCHOOL ZONE" at the time Theseus was contacted! A report was sent to the DA's Office and they filed charges (no mention was made that Theseus was on private property). He was clearly on Private Property, which is also clearly exempted from the school zone law: Quote:

I'm told that Bruce has every confindence that Theseus will be shown to have been legal in his self defense firearm possession. Please join me and many other Calgunners in supporting Theseus, a law abiding American, Father and Husband, against this politically motivated charge and send a message that the SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE BILL OF RIGHTS means what it says and that we will STAND BY OUR OWN! Please give whatever you can afford. None of us are safe in the face of these unconstitutional laws and politically motivated charges. This could easily some day be you. Will you not now stand with him? Together we are stronger! Please donate today. All monies not used will be placed into the Calguns Foundation Fund to be used to further the fight for our Basic Human Self Defense Rights. If i get this job i am looking into i will send in money but i am happy to see a UOC defense fund started. I am sure within months this defense fund will wield a lot of power with the state, allowing people to OC with a reduced risk of spending lots on attorney fees.

A big thank you to all who have given! This is a great cause.
UOC is at your own risk and legal bill. CGF is just the conduit for us to raise money and direct it to Bruce Colodny, Esq. through a trustable and secure clearing house. Funds not used get donated to CGF's general fund. CGF is not backing this case except perhaps with moral support and co-ordination. Also to be clear I don't speak for CGF or CGN. Everyone here does what they can to further our Rights. For those who can't assume some risks just now, being able to support those who do is a perfect example of one of our strengths! This case dealing with the dreaded "1000' school zone" will, like all failed prosecutions (a la Matt Corwin), have an effect and help make the exercise of our California infringed Rights easier for all (if only to teach DAs not to waste their time on us)! Will there be a counter offensive fund in addition to or as a subset of the defense one? One to pursue malicious prosecution charges and damages against those who did this to Theseus and others in his shoes. We're just going to be having more and more of these cases until it starts stinging the other side to where they stop wanting to try this.

The real "counter fund" is the main CGF fund. There will be civil cases started after Nordyke gives us some tools to use.

I thought I read a post that the Foundation was not going to fund any UOC and suggested that it shouldn't be done until "word" was given?

The case was delayed 'till March 10th.
But thank you for the bump! Funds are still needed. Please give if you support open carry. And in this case no actual laws were broken. The school zone is being misapplied. If you've already given please give again if you can. And a big thank you to everyone who has supported Theseus (even just moral support means a lot!).
