Default Cheaper Than Dirt Anti California

If this is a dupe or not allowed please delete it.

As most of you already know CTD will not sell and ship gun related
of items they sell because they say it is Illegal to do so.

There is a tread on ar15.com and CheaperThanDirt is a Member there.
If your a member of Arfcom...Let them hear your voice about not selling
perfectly legal items to California residents.

UPDATE:

They could care less..
Looks like CTD will soon be changing its name from CTD to MEG
"More Expensive than Gold"
Look @ this for price gouging

I used to be a fairly loyal CTD customer. It's a bad idea in general for us (Gun owners) to boycott any merchant that sells firearms or accessories. Having said that, my current attitude towards Cheaper Than Dirt is:

"F**K CTD"

You want me to complain on ARF.com about anti-californiaism? LOL... Right, lemme go put on my flame-retardant underwear first and I'll get right on that.

i don't understand what you guys are buying from CTD and sportsmansguide that they wont ship that makes you so pissed. CTD will even ship that golf ball launcher. SG has the best deals ever on ammo and they ship to me.

ARFCOM tends to be anti CA too.
I left. I have friends that still post there and claim Texas as a location.

Are you serious? They wouldn't even sell me a scope mount. You can try to attemp to have them change policy. They don't care and will not care to even listen....been there, done that, heard it many times over a year.

Both CTD and Sportsman guide can shove it. Seriously.

The catalogs I get still make great packaging material. But I still wouldn't wipe my azz with it.

Odd, I haven't had issues with either one shipping to me. Bought some ammo, scopes, and some surplus stuff including some evil-looking machetes with what looks like a pistol grip from both in the past.

It is not issues with everything they sell.
Just some of the goodies..mainly gun related
Like parts kits...Stocks...Grips...

And if any of you care..
CTD did respond.

We will review some restrictions on items as we can. We have lifted restriction where we find no middle ground in interpretation. As stated previously, we will err on the side of caution when placing restrictions.

Don't like the restrictions for your state or city? Tell your elected officials!

I don't see any restrictions on carry handles, but if you can find it, please let us know.

We do sell many items to California, and if we choose restrict some items, we do have our reasons.

You have the items available to you through other venues.

CTD may be argumentative for some items. However, for my 50AE ammo order they were the lowest cost and shipped very quickly. Same thing for my mag loader, other ammo types, etc.

Guess I haven't run into any issues yet because I have not asked for any AR platform items.

So for me Cheaper Than Dirt is OK.

As long as you get your stuff.

I would rather support another vendor that doesn't discriminate buyers in California.
Anything I need I can buy at another site, so I do.

Yes that is why they are called CHEAPER THAN DIRT.
But I will go else where because of thier EXTREEM
we can't sell that to you because you might do
something bad with it..

SO I will pay alittle more >go< thru more than one
vendor instead of one and get everything at the same time.

Sometimes CTD is the only one with the Cheapest prices
but guess what...
They will not sell a perfetly legal to own item because they will
err on the side of CAUTION.......

I have spent much $$$ with CTD in the past.

After having CTD elect not to sell legal items to us in Ca.
I have decided not to spend my $$$ with them.

I will continue to buy from Ca friendly vendors.

I'd say most of their catalog items are CA restricted.

Well it looks like something is happening with CTD..
We will review some restrictions on items as we can.
As stated on page one, we will look into it. We have one person who handles restrictions for all of the states, counties, and cities, plus other responsibilities.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.htm...=168617&page=2

and in typical ARFCOM fashion....
There are the typical no-Cali people responding by with
CRY BABIES...MOVE OUT.. and so forth..

But atleast CTD MIGHT...MIGHT...Allow us to buy normal unrestricted parts.

They also recently stopped selling a lot of defense ammo to average joe's now. Much of it is listed as "law enforcement sales only, call XXX-XXXX to order"

Just ordered from Midway today. I liked their NRA "keep the change" thingy too.

[ETA: I'm trying my best to spread my guns-n-ammo dollars around to vendors that I like. Midway I give props to for supporting most of my gunny shows on TV. Being CA friendly for the most part helps too. ]

Hard to go wrong with Midway. If you take a few minutes every few days to browse their "specials" e-mail you can pick up some good deals. Got a nice boresighter about five bucks cheaper than CTD's regular price a couple of months ago and have made some fat deals on optics as well.

What is it, about once every other week a "CTD sucks!!!" thread opens? I've personally never had an issue with them shipping me anything. Bought a lot of ammo and a bunch of other stuff over the past several years. But I've also never tried buying black rifle parts from them, I source those from others.

Heres another update from CTD.

We are cautious, especially in California where we have already been sued.

We are in the process of updating all of the restriction for every state, county, and city.

Hmm, I'll have to contact them again .

ETA: I see Wes has already offered to help them. I wonder if they'll take him up on that.
