That 10 dollar carry handle will prove next to useless. Take it off and just use the front sight.

Honestly, though, not horribly worried.... will get some MBUS when more $ allows

I did pick up a blue pen, and ordered a armorer's wrench and the Wheelers roll pin tools

Hey, if it works for more than a few outings and holds a zero, I'll buy one myself!

RED ALERT....do yourself a big favor..get rid of the stock charging handle...
and get a BCM charging handle..that is what I consider..the weak spot of the AR-15...you wont regret it!!!!

Had my first problem already, thought I did something wrong... Took it to my LGS, and they couldn't fix it either... BUT he did tell me what I could try, and it worked.... Anyways, my mag catch was loose, so it let my new 10/30 Hexmag pull out, with no bullet button.... we tried a different bullet button, and also a regular release. also tried a metal usgi mag.... the metal mag had no issues, and the issue with the Hexmag happened with all of the mag releases...

His idea was to slightly bend the mag catch, as it seems to only not catch in a certain spot, I got home, and tapped the catch down, and it works now

Hexmags have had their own threads lately and have swayed me away from them.

yeah, I read all of those, and did have an issue initially..... but not sure if it was the hexmag or my mag catch..... either way, it is fixed. and my mag catch works fine with the metal mags I just got (pictured) too

As for the HG, the top went on easy, the bottom was weird. I couldn't figure out the directions, but my mechanical tinker skills got it on there

I like the BCM endplate. It's worked well on my rifles.

Finally ran some rounds through it!!!!

Only 50 as of right now though, this was @ 50 yds... I still need to do more sighting in....

I was initially low and to the right, and then we tweaked it a little bit, and was still low and to the right, but closer to center.

Not sure if it's me, or if I need a few more clicks..... (Can I blame my $9.99 shipped A2 carry handle of ebay? )

First group:

Same target, after adjustments:

#6 @ Richmond Rod & Gun Club

Noticed on all my brass a little scrape, my friend that was there with me said it is no big deal - little sideways scratch, 1/8" long about 1/2" up the casing

Ran my Hexmag 10/30 v2 and it felt good. Comparable to my USGI mags (I felt the USGI mags felt better - but, might just be in my head) .. I tried out the v1, and it sucked.... tossing that in the parts box, because who knows, I might need parts one day, but it wont be a mag I usually use.

Also, just weighed it on the kitchen scale.... with 10 rounds in the 10/30 Hexmag Series 2, it weighs 7 pounds, 6.05 oz. (3346 grams for those Non-Americans )
