Default CZ Mags

Picked up an SP-01 and after a little time with it Iím really not impressed with the quality of the magazines. Anyone make higher quality mags I can purchase? The ones it came with function they just feels flimsy and cheap.

The MecGar mags are excellent. I bought mine from Greg Cote LLC. Great vendor.

+1 on this

The OEM mags you have may be made by mec gar as well, but the 10rd 75b mec gars as sold by gregg cote are different and may fulfill your impression of better quality. They do to me.
And as an fyi, the 10rd .40 S&W mags are interchangeable and usable with 9mm. Be careful though if you use the CA legal 10rd .40 with 9mm, since you could accidentally insert 13rds of 9mm in there. I have never done that i and never ever ever ever would do that.

Yes but they are lower quality then the MecGar branded mags.

The ones made for CZ have a lower quality spring, follower, mag base and coating on the mag body. I'm sure this was done to meet CZ's price point for the contract. The sad part about it is CZ then sells the inferior mags for almost twice what MecGar charges for the much better self branded mag.

Aftermarket mecgar mags are great. Cheaper and nicer than the standard mags.

Admittedly, I have never bought MecGar mags for my SP-01 but the ones that came with my Shadow 2 are noticeably better.

Are these the factory 10 rounders? The ones that have those huge plastic baseplates like these?

Mine too. When I picked up a loaded one the other day a round actually fell out. They just seem really questionable. Hoping the ones everyone here suggested are better.

I don't have any experience with Mecgar magazines, however my 12 factory magazines all work perfectly.

I havenít experienced any issues with my factory mags either. I do prefer the all metal mag body of the aftermarket mec gar. I also prefer the base from the aftermarket as it is not recessed and makes a better tool for removing the slide stop during tear down. Lastly they are $21 each gregcotellc

I noticed that when I put in 9 rounds instead of 10, the mags don't rattle.

Dont order the 40cal 10rd mag by mistake and accidentally shove 12rds of 9mm in there, OK?

And definitely don't bang on the feed lips with a blunt object to keep the rounds in the magazine body.

I'm glad someone else is complaining about the crummy factory CA 10 rounders we get. The plastic base always cuts my hand and is almost impossible to rip out of the gun during a type 3 malf. Why couldn't they just block the original SP-01 mags?

Jesticearms also sells a blocked version of the factory SP-01 mags. I ordered them a while ago and have been waiting...
