I wish you luck in your endeavors. For me, the glock 19 is a pretty damn good carry gun. I hesitate to use the word perfect, because you are always sacrificing something.

I'm a Glock fan, but this pistol is everything the G19 wishes to be. S&W is going to chew up the G19 market with this pistol.

Does that M&P have that annoying magazine disconnect? If so, I rather carry the Glock; and I am not a Glock fan.

It's more an excuse for me to buy/try new guns than anything, I am honestly perfectly fine with the Glock.

Glock sucks.
Glad you guys are finally figuring this out 14 years later after I figured this out with my first Springfield XD-40 purchase.

That's subjective - besides I prefer my brass on the ground, not to my forehead.

Glocks are good guns, but no doubt the M&P is no slouch.

May be a nice alternative....but price and availability are major factors here.

Great. Another new improved pistol that is not on the CA roster. I’m glad you are so excited, but since I cannot get it, I’m just meh.

Sheet.

How many times have I heard this one.

Smith en Weasal has never had a semi auto pistol that wasn't either a stand alone POS or a POS Copy of some other semi auto or both. In either case, 10 years later finally the obvious becomes apparent.

Lol how is the M2.0 a glock copy bigpun762. The M&P are not blocky, M&Ps have ergonomically replaceable back straps. Front and rear serrrations. Steel extended Chasis.

If anything the glocks need to catch up with the M&Ps, FN509, cz p10, walther and sig p320

Would much rather have the Glock. M&P has trigger issues. It may feel nice at first. But the pull is longer, so is the reset, and the reset is hard to feel/notice when firing. So you end up slapping the trigger. Has a multitude of other design flaws that impact performance, but that is the one that stands out the most to me.

Don't get me wrong. I would take the M&P over 99% of the competition. Just not over the Glock. Not a chance.

That said, different strokes for different folks. If you're happy...I'm happy for you.

I wouldnt really call that an M&P 9 Compact , thats an insult to the 2.0 . The originaly M&P9C had the C for Crap not compact. I hope the 4in barrel on the 2.0 brings better balance than the 3.5 barrel on the first M&P9 Compact. Post up a range report when you get a chance.

This is coming from someone who would take the M&P over the glock anyday ... just not in this case

Aside from the near useless front serrations, what else?

Until something truly revolutionary comes along a "better Glock" isn't going to unseat Glock off their throne. People who are really into guns are always looking for something "better" and that isn't going to be enough for most people no matter what the cognoscenti say. I mean the CZ mob has been trying for years.

Too many are deeply invested in Glocks in terms of training, money spent and the whole hassle and expense of switching for something that may or may not be "better" isn't very enticing. The vast majority of gunowners don't care. The ship has sailed.

If the new M&P still uses the same trigger bar loop design as the old M&P, then I'll pass. I never liked the idea of a trigger bar loop that can be bent with very little force. My Shield has always been a compromise to me. It would collect dust in the back of the safe if I could ever get a 9mm Glock with the same dimensions.

Say's the guy with a stippled glock. LOL.

I love the M&P series. My favorite striker fired pistol besides the Glock 19 and VP9. I sold my P320 because I loved my M&P9 so much more. If the M&P 2.0 was on the roster I would probably choose it over another Glock and I'm a Glock fanboy, but I'm also a S&W fanboy. S&W is probably the best American handgun maker.

You should have just skipped the M&P and gone straight to the HK VP9...

So s&w finally made a proper glock copy for all the s&w fanboys to rejoice and talk crap on the 19; which is wholly and entirely modeled after the 19?Lol

Congrats, you bought a S&W brand Glock 19. Its like the walmart great value

I find the entire idea hilarious, that people are so caught up in aesthetics that they wouldnt dare buy a glock, yet jump immediately at the chance to buy a gun modeled after the gun they claim to hate so much

The S&W shows promise. Let's see how it works out long term. Until then I will stick with my 19.
