Default Any pet loads for 223 with Win 748?

Looking for a plinking load for a 223. The rifle has a nato chamber but I'd like to keep it within SAMMI specs. Just to be safe. Semi auto,1:9 twist in an 18" barrel. I will be loading a 55 gr sp of unknown manufacture. They seem to be Winchester 55 PSP. And I also have some 50 gr sierra SP to load. Just not enough to work up from the starting loads.
Just testing the water you understand.

anything between 25 and 26 grains works for me any more than that it turns into a compressed load how much do you like your rifle

26.5gr W748
CCI 41 primers
LC brass trimmed to 1.75"
COL 2.215 (cannelure barely visible)

I like my rifle alot. I like my fingers more. My face is not an issue.
I've gotten alot of conflicting data.
Win/hogdon site lists
2.200" min none Max26.3 3150 39,000 CUP

Sierra manual lists
2250 Min 25.1 25.8 Max 26.5 2900 NA

Steves gunsite lists
Min 24.3 Max 26.7 3100 his load 27.4 @ 3188

and I have many others. Some going up to 28 gr. I don't really believe any of them.......I may end up starting at 24, 24.5, 25, 25.5, 26, 26.1, 26.2. whenever I get pressure signs. But that is over 70-100 rnds and a day.
I just want to see some shooter tested loads for a comparison. Thanks!

actually what i meant is that hot loads use your barrel up quicker and can copper up your barrel more

and since your goal is plinking your loads should probably be at a reloading manuals starting charge weight

it would be best to keep downloading and find the point where it wont cycle

plinking and working up to a hot load are on different sides of the spectrum

23-24 BLC2 or W-748 seems to work the action just fine in my AR`s,keltecs and saigas plus mini-14`s.

Looks like I am working up a load anyways.
Just loaded 10 rnds @ 24gr,25gr, and 26gr. I'm going to fill in the rest with 2 rnds at 2gr increments. Just to see what the rifle will handle and check for accuracy at the same time. I want my plinking loads to hit the target. Take a look at the sudo chart and you will see why I am confused. You may notice that Lymans' starting load is higher than Noslers' max and Speers' starting load IS Noslers' max. EEEYEA......

BOOK LOCG HICG LOVL HIVL
Sierra 24.3 26.7 2800 3100
Lyman 26.4 30.0 2894 3281
Hogdon 25.5 27.5 3051 3309
Nosler 24.0 26.0 2980 3140
Speer 26.0 28.0 2965 3313
Hornady 23.0 27.7 2800 3300

I've been using 27.5gr of 748, CCI 250 primers w/Hornady 55gr FMJBT, Hornady 55gr SP, as well as Winchester 55gr PSP and 55 gr FMJBT, all with cannelure. It works well in my AR's with 20" and 24" barrels. I've had decent success shooting these out to 600 yards with both of these uppers.

I feel it is a little hot for my 16" carbine upper. The person who originally worked up this load uses it in his Mini-14. I tried it in mine, and like with my carbine, felt it was a little hot.

I have used 27c with 450CCI with great results but I am loading for a 5.56mm chamber not .223 you might want to load 24-25 with any primer.

Yea, I forgot my dot. Thanks Frank! And everyone else!
This is a nato chamber but I have had a few flattened primers and one blown out of the pocket using Malaysian Military 5.56 ammo. I'm going to break one down in a minuite,But I don't know what type powder they use.
Got a few loaded from 24.0 to 26.0 @ .2 gr intervals at 2.250 OAL. I think I'll go to 27 tonight. From the data I've seen, I don't think I want to mess around with 23grs. I can always reload them after I see pressure signs. This is fun. Can't wait to go to the range this weekend and try them out so I can load up the rest for the weekend after that at Panoche.

I had the best luck with 55gr BT's with 26gr @ 2250. I was all over the paper and was way right till I rezeroed the red dot. I need a scope. I want to checkout the cases tomorrow. I noticed flattened primers. But the 77 LC didn't have any pressure signs. I'll get back to you on that.

Actually, I did alot of this:

Buy a pound of Hodgdon H-335 and get those groups down to tha size of a
quarter.

I don't like 748 for target loadings. H335 delivers IMO the best performance
with Sierra bullets.

The target with the vertical stringing is interesting.

With a red dot, I'm happy just to hit the paper. At 100 yards the dot is the same size as the target. I've got to get a decent scope to hit the bullseye every shot. That's on my christmas list. We'll see how that goes.
I'll take pics of the brass as soon as I get good lighting. Like tomorrow.
