Default New production Glock RTF2 17 and 22 with fishgills coming

These are going to hit the market soon. I have no idea how big a run it will be. I'd be grabbing a 17 if I had not recently picked up the Vicker's RTF2 with straight serrations. I love those gills, but there is such a thing as too many G22's and G17's... YMMV.

Look for them in September. My LGS is doing pre-orders now.

Do they think it will drive up sales? Quite frankly I don't care for fish gills or anything fancy. I just want one that works

I'll definitely pick up a G17 when they're available. I really like the RTF grip.

RTF2 is a great texture regardless of the slide serrations style. Nice to have more options here.

Nope. I just heard it from my LGS. He's pre-ordering them TODAY for a 20% deposit on $499.95 and +$57 option for night sights (cash or check prices). If you are near Sacramento I'm talking about Armory Outpost in Rancho Cordova.

Not sure why he has to pre-order today, but if it is a small run you might want to get in on it. I have to pass on this one.

Are they taking deposits?

I'm buried right now because of 1 in 30. I just freed a G26 on Sunday. I have an OD G19 sitting at Sac Armory that I can't DROS till 7/9/17 which means I can't DROS one of these until 8/9/17 at the earliest. I want the G22.

It sucks waiting months for a gun you paid for. I've been jammed up with one in 30 a few times.

It was the last day for deposit pre-order I guess. I just heard today. Deposit looks to be $100. You still have 40 minutes till Ron leaves, but I dunno if he had to put the orders in already. If they make a bunch and they aren't in-demand just pick one up later. I have no idea about availability of the Vicker's one. I don't know if it is a regular item or limited runs like HK does the Expert, Elites. I actually would have preferred the Vicker's G17 to have the fishgills, but the frame was more important to me. Now if they were doing the RTF2+Fishgills+old silverstone finish... I'd probably be getting ANOTHER G17. If there was a G19 available, I might buy two

IIRC, there was a pre-order on the HK USP Elites I was considering, but they ended up being around for a long time after shipping. Many opportunities on those. They popped up on Rifle Gear, and then way later popped up at River City Exchange.

Well this should take a nice chunk out of the value of the old ones.

The gills look good but perform badly, would of been better if they reversed them. Wouldn't look as good but would provide a much better grip.

But I agree with keep the different options coming, can't be too many.
Many love he rtf2 grip, I prefer the gen 4 and the normal serrations.

I was lucky and got my rtf2 17, lightly used in a trade for a gen 3 19. It's a very good Glock but prefer my gen 4 DE 17, when it comes to shooting them.

Got off the phone earlier with Ron at Armory Outpost(Awesome FFL!), Here's the latest update 05:30PM.

Per Ron, Today is last day to pre-order Glock 17 & 22 RTF2. Limited run being offered through vendor "Acusport". Orders will not be available to ship until September.

Glock 17 & 22 RTF2 Pre-order deposit amount is 20% = $100.00
Cancellation Fee = Pre-order deposit of $100.00 (-20%)

"Cash/Check/Debit" price = $499.95
"Credit Card" price add $10.00 = $509.95

Sales Tax for Cash/Check/Debit = $41.25
Sales Tax for Credit Card = $42.07

DROS = $25.00

Total for Cash/Check/Debit = $566.20
Total for Credit Card = $577.02

Being that I have already made the fantastic voyage to Armory Outpost some time ago for PPT from the South Bay (2 Days, 500+ Miles Round Trip). I asked if Ron would be willing to ship to a local FFL to save myself the days and journey.

Ron is willing to ship to my/yours FFL of choice once remaining balance is paid in full when shipment arrives.

Ron is also willing to store order if needed until available for DROS, This is for any who is affected by 1 in 30.

This is great and will save anybody not local to Armory Outpost the time, gas, driving, wear and tear and stress of long distance DROS.

So now the question is.. Which FFL is willing to accept in the South Bay do I use?

BTW - Anyone interested in pre-ordering either 17 or 22 RTF2 has to have it done tonight. I have Ron's cell phone number, Private message me.

G17 RTF2 (black) and G22 RTF2 (Black) are on roster. This counts towards the Vicker's G17 RTF2 as well (even though it has no fishgills). It is considered a black RTF2.

Unless you are really picky. My old G22 RTF2 is noticeably stickier than my new run Vickers RTF2. I'd say the new RTF2 is between the original and the Gen4. Plus don't forget the old Silverstone-like finish - my favorite. I only have that finish on my 22 RTF2 and 22C.

I spoke with Accusport today and they haven't even finalized the order with Glock. Their words were 'they are TRYING to get them'

Thanks Baboosh. Very strange but good to know..

I got my paid receipt last night via email at 09:57PM 06/21/17. I also received a text confirmation from Ron (Armory Outpost) this morning at 08:40AM 06/22/17, advising my pre-order has been added to distributor order.

He may be taking pre orders for them but these are not something AccuSport is even even taking orders on yet. They are forming an interest list but AccuSport has not even finalized an order with Glock yet. Also other distributors will be getting them, this is not an AccuSport exclusive as my Lipseys rep also said they have their Glock rep looking into an order.

Thanks again Baboosh, Great information! I didn't know other distributors (Lipsey's, etc.) would also be getting the RTF2's but was told this limited run was being offered by Acusport.

I'm okay with signing up for pre-order and waiting till September if it guarantees me a NIB Glock 22 RTF2 for $499.95 (Tax, DROS and Shipping not included.)

I just really hope the distributors make the deal happen with Glock and they ship out the RTF2's. Would really suck if deal the doesn't happen..

Leon

I have both of these weapons. I would strongly recommend them to anybody. They're probably my favorite handguns that I own. They would exceed just about anything else on the market as far as I'm concerned.

I bought a g17 fish gill special years ago, like 2008ish lol. Hated the grip texture, super sharp velcro feeling (I read it was made for wet conditions) but love the slide. They are bringing these back? I remember they weren't very popular back in the day.

Yup, the frame texture already came back for the Vicker's RTF models 17 and 19 - 17 being considered on-roster. I have that one. They have a normal gen3 slide and include steel sights with brass dot in front, extended slide release, mag release, grip plug.

Now the Fishgill slide is coming back too, same gen3 RTF2 frame, no extras, stock sights.
