Default Parkerizing

So. I recently sent in my order for a Service Grade M1 from the CMP. I have a strong desire to restore it to as close to factory fresh as possible. So far I'm planning on getting a new gas cylinder and new stock and get a mag phos. parkerizing job done to it. Does anyone know anybody that could get the parkerizing done on the entire rifle for me at a reasonable price? I've heard that Springfield offers it for m1 at a decent price. What say you?

For the price of one gun you can buy your own setup and do as many as you want. I did. It's pretty fun, until your recirculation hose pops off and spews park solution all over your car

Wrong priorities if you want to restore it to "factory fresh."

If by factory fresh, you mean look pretty then your approach sounds okay.

Otherwise, first stop, good barrel installed and headspaced by a good gunsmith. NM trigger if you care for a better trigger. And making sure that the stock fits well.

A pretty rifle is useless if it doesn't shoot well. Cosmetics second.

if you ordered a Service Grade and want to 'restore' it by reparkerizing and new stock , gas cylinder, etc.. you just wasted your $$$ going the retore route.. you should have got a Rack Grade and used the $$ saved to put into your project.

There's a perfect excuse to buy another Garand! Like any excuse is needed? Am I right?
