Cow Palace is the "biggest", but sometimes the smaller shows are where you'll find the treasure

From what I've been told by the guys at "Sonoma" (Gun Shop Located in Sacramento) we have a show in San Jose on Nov. 29-30 at the Santa Clara Fair Grounds... I'll be there on Saturday to pick up my POF Lower (Damn DROS)... I can't seem to find any listings for this show, can anyone else?

As stated by someone earlier, it's at the fairgrounds. Yes there is always some ammo at the Yuba show, although I don't think they have any vendors on Miwall's scale.
I do have ammo in the more common calibers, as will some other vendors. Also, there are couple guys that sell quality reloads. I also sell pistols, longguns, AR stuff, molle gear, and many other goodies. Check my commercial sales thread for examples. Look forward to meeting some of you guys in Yuba, AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT RED BLUFF AND FERNDALE.
Look for the 10 Ring banner and stop by to say hello. I'm sure we can hook you up with a good deal on something.

Thumbs up Red Bluff show THIS weekend

BTT for show tomorrow.

I've seen many posts looking for OLLs, LPKs, ammo, and pistols. I will have all of these items and more at the show this weekend.

Yep, I have a few hunting rifles, and there are a few more with other dealers as well. Not a big show, but we had a nice turn out today. I know I was busy anyway.

Yuba city is about 4 hrs drive for me (2-ways). I'd love to go, but too much drive (gas). I think I'll go to the next one in Vallejo, and all the ones after that )

Thanks for the compliment, and sorry for being so slammed on Saturday. I wish I had more time for dealing with customers and talking with folks, but I was the only local transfer dealer for that show, so even on a smaller show, that's a bunch of papers for 1 guy to shuffle. Hit me up next time though! Next weekend in Yuba City, or check my Norcal Gun Show thread for others coming up.

Unless you plan to buy ammo for a somewhat sane price(then most savings is lost with the sales tax) the shows at cal expo are really not worth the 11$ entry fee and 7$ parking.

I'm hearing complaints about entry fee vs. show value from my customers as well. For the smaller shows though (Yuba, Ferndale, Colusa, etc), parking is free and admission is usually only $5 or $6.
Not a bad way to spend part of your day?

well for 5-6 dollars its a nice way to spend some time, but for the expo show your paying 7$ for parking 11$ (and gas to get there) per person for a show thats of such low quality and size its not hard to view everything that there is to see in about 15 mins, less time if you have been to the show before and skip tables of repeat vendors with the same items.

the prices for items are better then most local gun stores but are still damn high in comparison to the rest of the country. (the very RARE deal non-withstanding)

There is always at least 1 (sometimes several) local transfer dealers at the shows. So if you are from the area where the show is being held, just transfer your purchase through the local transfer dealer. Or, ask the show promoter if they have a dealer at the show who does business in an area convenient for you. For that matter, you could arrange something ahead of time with a local dealer of your choice to handle the transfer, although freight charges may be incurred.

Yes, the 10 day wait still applies (except for private party C&R transactions), and you will pay a dealer transfer fee of $25 - $80 unless you buy your gun from the local transfer dealer himself. DROS fee is always $25 and private party transfers are an additional $10.

Hope this helps, it's really not a big deal for the buyer. More of a headache for the dealers actually.
Hope to see you at Yuba

Burn up some ammo under the bridge? Are you saying shooting in an outdoor/uncontroled enviornment? Wouldn't that be totally illegal? I think shooting like that would earn some real long term Jail time. (IMHO). Can someone shed some light on this one...

I'm planning to to got the one in Antioch, and then in San Fran in January. Anyone going to Antioch?

Last time I rode motorcycles down there, somebody shot up my friends pickup truck. Not cool. It was an old toyota, but the thing still ran fine.

I'm also interested in the Cal Expo (been hearing that it's not worth it) or the Roseville shows.
