I went in and started the 10 day waiting period on my CZ 75B today. Unfortunately, 10 days from today is Christmas, so my waiting period will actually be 11 days.

Talking

Ruger SR9 pick up is Dec 22. But this time it's my wife who has to suffer through the wait.

In the interim she is carrying around an ad picture of the SR9 in her back pocket every day. (SR9 Ad)

Something else totally evil on my part? I sent her on several errands for me that day. To add on to my errands the other parts of her day did not go well either. So in the evening I call my wife from work once more and ask her wife if she would run one more errand to the gun shop for me because,,, "I am stuck at work". I hear this HUGE sigh at the end of the line and a grumbling acceptance of the task. Grumbling to me but outright complaining and even light *****ing by the time she is talking to the guys in the shop.

From what she tells me the guys are taking this pretty well. (They know the real reason for her visit) My wife is shuttled over to the counter section for DROS'ing the pistol and then the Ruger box comes out into view. CLICK! A light goes on in her head and the thought is confirmed when she sees the box open to show the SR9.

Well that turned here whole day around in one second. Remember the Guns and Ammo cover with the SR9? My wife has been green eyed for the pistol since that day. Now she is dancing while waiting for the pickup on the 22nd.

I got nice thank you that night! Wait a minute?? I get a reward for helping to bring another pistol into the house??? I'm one lucky dog!

FFL shipped it incorrectly as it needed to be next day air for FedEx. My FFL had to go hunt down the FedEx driver and finally was able to meet up with a kinda driver this evening to pick up firearm. If the FFL had done it correctly, my FFL would simply had been able to pick up at the local FedEx Kinko's after he got off work (my FFL does this on the side). At any rate, I go to dros it tomorrow.

799 before fees, lem with night sights and 2 mags. Ouch, right before the holidays, only thing that makes me feel better is repeatedly taking it out to look at it while I wait to go to the range.

DROS'ed tonight. Felt it and seemed kinda light for a stainless gun but we'll see after the range. FFL says he might be traveling out of town next week so I literally may not get my gun till next year! This all started back in November so let's go for 2 months! Not his fault though...great FFL. I'm lucky to have him.

Thanks for letting me share!

Those are some nice grips. Too pricey for me though.

And I've got 9 more days until I get my CZ.

i dunno, i think the price is really fair for the intricacy. i mean, i was thinking about some wicked grips, but that, my friend, requires some coin! but for something 100% unique, and at the quality i hear they put out, it would be worth it.

not to mention they'll be a gift, so... meh. they're awesome. i'm stoked.

and i'm looking at 101 hours from right now. it keeps me awake at night. this is my second gun purchase, but my first 1911, and i think it's worse than the last time.

Supposed to pick it up this Friday evening but my FFL is going out of town! So it' going to be more like a 25-30 day wait! Oh well.

That sucks.

I was supposed to pick up this evening sometime near 7pm, but that's just about closing time for that particular shop, and its also an hour away from me, traffic would have been horrible.

I figured I'd just go tomorrow during the day, can't wait.

Will do, but it'll have to be a few cylinders. Its a revolver.

8 days left, and for some reason im having trouble coping with the wait time, all my other guns did not bother me so much in fact i would not pic them up until a few days after the 10 day period had passed.

But then again none of them is a SW 27 no dash with a 3.5 inch barrel. i just need to see it up against the bluing on my 6 inch Python, i know its going to shame the pythons exceptional bluing. Its going to be hands down my favorite revolver.

DROS'd a XD.45 Compact at Turners in Pasadena yesterday. Pick up on January 2nd.
+1 for Turners in Pasadena - friendly staff - far nicer and more pleasant than the Reseda store.

I was quite surprised however, that the restocking fee at Turners is a whopping 25%. There's an incentive to not fail the background check!!!

I've heard good things about the pasadena store. But then I guess any store's better than the Re-seedy store!

Default Ruger GP-100

9 days, 21 hours, 7 minutes to go on a Ruger GP-100 6" blued .357 Mag, my first wheel-gun.

I already have more bullets on order and should have some loaded for the afternoon of Jan 3rd.

Waiting periods suck.

So went with my buddy to my FFL so he could DROS his 226st in 9mm. Confirmed with my FFL that he is going out of town. Good news is that he says he may be back on Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday...he doesn't know. But at least I'm looking at 15 days or so vs. 25-30. I also got a Sig laser light combo for my 226st in .40. Tried it out yesterday and it's very cool and has this obnoxious strobe light function. Then we went to Wally World and picked up lots of ammo for our new guns.

Then came home and cleaned out my .357 sig drop in barrel for my 226st. Like having 2 guns in one! And ordered fresh cr123a lithium surefire batteries for my laser/light.

So trying to stay busy prepping for my new gun! Merry xmas everyone!

Well after about two months, I brought my new favorite toy home. Cleaned up the factory grease (NIB) and fitted my hogue finger groove grips, bedair guide rod, and sig laser/light combo. Mag springs are still awful stiff but over time, should be fine.

Reticent to shoot as it's a NIB limited run (allegedly only 300 of these were made) but if she's to be my HD weapon of choice, I'm gonna have to put a few hundreds rounds to make sure she shoots fine.

Happy New Year all!
