if you dont mind me asking what is a COE, i think the FFL 03 is the way to own assault rifles and suppressors legally?

2 hours 40 minutes.

I felt like a kid on Christmas.. Couldn't sleep in.. kept waking up.. I finally got tired of fighting it and finally just got out of bed.

No... you're thinking of SOT

03ffl is a license for a private individual to collect "Curio or Relic" firearms.
The C&R by itself doesn't have a huge benefit in California, since handguns always have to go through an 01FFL, and long guns over 50 years old are cash-and-carry for anyone, but it does offer some benefits, such as the ability to have C&R long guns shipped to your door by out of state dealers (no FFL transfer needed), and it allows you to travel out of state and purchase C&R long guns and handguns and bring them home. Handguns must still be registered for $19, but there is no FFL involved and no 10 day jail.

But adding the COE, California DOJ Certificate of Eligibility, adds a couple of benefits:
ALL C&R, both long gun and handgun, you are exempt from the 10 day wait.
For all handguns, you are exempt from the 1-every-30 limit.

03FFL is $30 for 3 years. The COE is $22/year, but you need to get a LiveScan when you initially apply, so the total cost is around $100 for the first year.

Went to Reed's this morning to buy ammo. Casually asked about 1911's. 10 days until I pick up the Kimber Tactical Custom II. Justin is one good salesman!
Luckily, I have the HK USP 45 to help with those 10 long days!

I ordered a XDm 3.8 compact 9mm day before mothers day at VA in Milpitas. So I have to wait for the order to come in, as they were out of stock, then wait for the conversion barrel and single shot mag, then dros. This is going to be difficult.

Ya...
03FFL is a standard BATFE background check. I've never heard of anyone being denied.
COE is California DOJ and FBI background check. Again, I've never heard of anyone being denied.

I get most all of my ammo there, with a few exceptions.
WalMart is cheaper on WWB 9mm and Winchester 555.
.357 is always a tossup. If I'm already placing an order and can buy a few boxes of .357 without it kicking to another shipping box (which adds $15), I'll grab some, otherwise I'll just get the cheap Blazer from Turner's.

I wouldn't run Blazer in a semi auto, but it's fine for the SP101, and I'm not reloading, so the cheap aluminum "brass" doesn't bother me.

I try to stay out of this thread. Usually the first 2-3 days don't bother me too much. The 4-8 days are the worst. Only 5 more days before I get my P220
