Default .410 AR Shotgun?

Has anyone seen this before? Just wondering what it would be used for...

looks cool not sure why they would use traditional rear sites

50-100-150-200 meters would be more realistic

Isn't an adjustable stock on a semi auto shotgun a no no in California?

Problem with California is that a semi-auto shotgun with telescoping stock AND pistol grip would be illegal; fixed mag or not. Also, any seim-auto shotgun with a removable magazine, regardless of other features, would also be illegal.

Now you could play the same game that Saiga owners play to get it in, and if that's your thing go for it, but it's a tad sketchier ground than your standard OLL and should really only be tread by people who have a good understanding of our laws. Just think, you get a bind at the range that locks the carrier in the buffer tube and it requires you to drop your mag to clear it before you can close the carrier and take the upper off. You're talking complete disassembly of the rifle and you take the wrong part off first and you've now created an AW. This is not a "I want one of those - how do I get it?" types of scenarios, but one that you really need to understand how and why the laws work.

Ever try to get a petite woman who is afraid of guns into shooting? Shooting flying clays was the ONE thing my wife thought looked fun, but a 12 gauge in her hands would have killed any future chance of ever taking her shooting again.

It has it's place. It's not a great round, but it has it's place.

I'd imagine, for those lucky enough, or unlucky enough, it would be a great round for backyard rodent control (such as opposums and raccoons that live in a tree and are probably pushing the size of animal to shoot with an air gun before it starts turning cruel).

We need an importer.

If it can be done with an upper and a mag only it would be worth it. I wouldnt have one if I needed a dedicated lower.

That would make a good HD weapon loaded with buckshot for a petite lady.

for home defense, bird shot is all you would need. Probably wouldnt penetrate further than one sheet of sheetrock if you needed to shoot a zombie

That would be fun for those of us with registered lowers.

uk gets supressors for .22's, we get handguns. it's a strange world we live in.
someone would need to get an import license for those. or license to mfr. domesticly. that might be the way to go. then you don't have to neuter it or worry about 922r.

Bird shot, in 12, 20 or 410 is NOT all you would need for home defense. It does not penetrate enough to be an effective stopper.

http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot3_2.htm

It seems that any load of 410 is not something you should rely on for defense if you have other options. http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot41_4.htm

I would definitely buy a .410 upper. That would be fun!

I would say that no one in the US can get one, due to 922(r).

A completed firearm, sure. But why not an upper?

Once you install it on a lower then it refers back to 922(r) ??

But if you installed it on a lower comprised of domestic parts, I doubt there'd be more than ten listed foreign parts in the upper that would trigger 922r.

Assuming the parts count is low enough (which I'm pretty sure it would be) you're right.

Do they sell uppers only?

Again, though, .410 is really expensive and not particularly useful

PS - this AR came up about a year or two ago... you could probably find it, since 410's are rarely discussed
