I know I reported in already, but just took my buddy's daughter up for her first time. Gave her a little bolt action H&R 'plainsmen' and she is in love now. Will soon have another safe, sane, active shooter!

Thank you to everyone else on here who has reported in and is encouraging and teaching others!!

I'm 26. I've always been interested in guns even though my parents were pretty much antis. Shot at many ranges and rented countless guns while in college, bought my first handgun (Ruger p95) in 2009 at the age of 24, right after my wife and I bought our house. In 2010 I added a Mossberg 500 and a Marlin 795 to my collection after my son was born.

i am 24, ive aways liked guns for as long as i can remember. my mom was in the Navy and i remember her cleaning her S&W model 459 and i always showed an interest watching her clean it. she never really had time to take me to the range or anything but when i turned 21 she gave it to me. i had a couple rifles before that i would take to the range SkS, LeeEnfield and mauser and a buddy of mine Nik told me about CalGuns and have been super addicted since because of CalGuns it really hellped me understand the laws and if you were not sure you could always ask. i love this place now lol and i have a bunch of "cool toys" that are all 100% legal.

23 yrs old. Fell in love with firearms at the age of 3 when I saw that one scene from Predator where Schwarzenegger and crew unload into the abyss not knowing what's there, but feel that they need to JUST KEEP SHOOTING ANYWAY!! I have to also give thanks to my dad, uncles and older cousins (ALL ex-military and gun owners) for the knowledge and know-how on every aspect of the firearms world.

Hey everyone, I'm 22 and have been shooting a while. My grandfather taught me how to shoot with an old break-open, single shot .22 and from there his Colt 1911 and M1. Bought my first gun at 18, a remington 870 and now I have a few handguns as well.

24 years old, first gun I ever shot was an old Remington bolt action in .270 when I was 12. Got my first .22 Ithaca lever action when I was 15, Savage 7mm Mag at 18, Savage .22 couple months later (yeah kinda went reverse order there)

Now I have a .410 Rossi Tuffy, 7-shot Remington 870, Walther P22, .45 Colt Uberti/Remington 1875, Ruger SR9C, and for my 24th birthday last week, my uncle gave me his Smith & Wesson model 66 .357

What's up fellow gun nerds. I'm 24 in LA county. I have a xd40, old 20g, and a mosin nagant (first gun from my dad for my 16th bday). An 870 is getting purchased this weekend and a 1911 and AR fund are growing. If anyone wants to hit the range let's get on it.

Sup guys, I'm 22 my first gun was one I bought last year, a Beretta M9. Looking to purchase a mossberg 500 next weekend. When tax return money comes around I will either add a .38 special snubnose for my vault box in my bank or a Rock Island Armory 1911 which I heard were absolutely great for the price.

24 years old. I've been shooting since I was about 9 (pellet/bb guns). Shot my first 9mm pistol, .22 rifle, and 12 gauge shotgun when I was about 13.

Bought an old mosin nagant when I was 21, and the rest has been an addiction. I try to get out to the range as often as possible (every month or two).

Currently own that Mosin, a Ruger 10/22, and a Mossberg 500. Currently working on putting together an AR-15, as well as picking up my first sidearm (Glock 9mm or Kimber .45 most likely).

I'll be 21 in a couple months. My dad had a couple handguns around when I was little, and I inherently got into airsofting and paintballing when I was about 16. The love grew from there, and when I turned 18, I picked up a mossberg 590, then a ruger 10/22, now most recently an AR-15. Once i'm 21 i'm definitely going to get a pistol, just still in the process of figuring out which one/caliber I want. I love taking apart/cleaning my guns and also modding (my bank account hates me).

Hey

I'm 19.

Got into shooting by my own interest. Always loved guns, never really got to touch them outside of .22's in boy scout camp years ago. Turned 18 and asked my grandfather for his two rifles, then bought one of my own shortly after

I've got a Mossberg 44 with scope, 50's vintage
Enfield M1917 in 30-06
Chinese Military SKS

Looking to get a G3 Clone among many other guns in the future

27-

I got an odd summer job working at a historical state park where I would almost everyday demonstrate the use of a Charleville musket, as well as being part of the daily cannon drill- A 4 lb field howitzer (Styrofoam projectile, of course.) That made me interested in shooting black powder, then in turn guns in general.

Carried my first handgun (Heritage Arms single action revolver) at 14,started carrying a Smith&Wesson model 10 at 16 (Almost had to use it to keep my atv in a few instances, glad everyday that it didn't go any worse than what it did).

Had a K-frame around for as long as I could remember,I grew up in Kentucky and had hunters/shooters on both sides of the family.

I'm 28

24. Always been into guns and a military buff. When I turned 22 I bought a pistol kind of as a present to myself. Didnt grow up around guns at all so it was my first experience. Definitely not my last. No one put a gun in my hand, got into it through my own accord as I'm sure many other young CA gunners have.

21 - became friends with a calgunner.

Always found firearms to be interesting, but parents were very anti-gun. Anything gun related they always kept away from me, even those toys that make weird beeping sounds that don't look anything like guns, as they said it was too violent.

So, the memory was suppressed. Then, made friends with calgunner and he took me shooting. Shortly after, I purchased a .22 bolt action and a .22 revolver and took my dad shooting.

Now, he has 2 ARs.

Default Technical questions for a couple young eager shooters

Hello my name is Francisco Ramos and I reside in Sacramento and am turning 20 next month. I have a question regarding my next shooting trip. my friend who at this time is 17 asked me if I wanted to do a range trip with her. I said sure since I just got an SKS and several hundred rounds as a gift. I thought the plans had been set until she mentioned that she would be bringing an assortment of rifles and even a couple .22 pistols. Now Im not a stranger to shooting or to known law but Im still learning here. Can she legally "own" or even transport such weapons at her age? she seemed sure about it and so I thought that she maybe knew something I didnt. As a criminal justice student going into law enforcement I decided to take on the legal (let alone moral) obligation of asking this question. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

22

Despite having anti-gun parents, I wanted a gun ever since I was 7yo and played 007 Goldeneye for n64. When I was 12, I was staying with family friends out near Oregon border, and learned to shoot a .22lr tube-fed in preparation for an overnight stake out; there were deer coming in at night and eating out of the vegetable garden. Loved them even more ever since. Bought my first .22 on my 18th birthday, and have since put at least 5000 rounds through it before it got confiscated by the police (not my proudest moment; I was on my 10 day wait for my m91/30 when I went to jail, and picked it up 2 days after I got out ; charges were all dropped btw). Got it back a year ago (completely forgot about it til they contacted me) and am still popping off rounds with it. Good old Marlin.

Minors can legally own long guns, but I'm not sure about handguns, or transport requirements.

23, my dad taught me to shoot at age 5 or 7 something like that. shot a .22. He got property in the desert and every time we went there he'd let me and my brother shoot. taught us gun safety and all that. when i was 10 he bough us BB guns and anytime we went to the desert we'd shoot them all day

My dad taught me when he felt I was mature enough...don't remember when that was. Acquired my grandfathers guns when he passed, but didn't do much shooting after my dad taught me how. Never had the opportunity. Now I have a quickly growing collection, and a reloading press.

Currently have and shoot an xd .40 tactical, a s&w model 59, a trooper mkIII .357, a detective special, a ruger mk II, a .22/.410 savage rifle, a few Remington 30-06's, an AR that I put together, a mossberg 500, and a 930spx.

Currently building an ak from a Romanian parts kit, and looking at buying a 1911.

I need a bigger safe. I'm 23

Glad we got a real young guy here that's interested. Best thing you can do is talk to old timers, look into the scouts and talk to your local shops. Also, if your parents are willing, they can take you to a local indoor where you can learn. A lot of places offer safety classes and instructions for younger people.

And welcome to the big kids club!
