Default Glock upgrades from glockstore.com

Ok guys I'm looking to upgrade my glock but was wondering if these are wise choices. My two main question are I'm I choosing the right choice with the mag catch, and 3.5 pound connector since there are so many to choose from.

Idited,

Thanks I order everything from ebay for cheaper and glock brand. The only thing I still need is a extended mag release.

Extended slide stop lever but if you have bigger hands you may be constantly engaging it so your slide never locks back.

+1 on the minus connector.

After having done the $0.25 trigger job, minus connector, extended slide release and extended slide lock levers, can't say any were necessary mods that should've come that way from the factory. Best mod was the Truglo TFO sights.

I actually changed my 34s from the extended slide stop lever to the regular one. It's still easy to ride it.

The other stuff I can't speak to although I know glockmeister has the OEM minus connectors and those are probably worth it.

I wouldn't consider any of that stuff an upgrade.

Don't consider this an endorsement, but you can buy Front Sight Diamond memberships off eBay for $39.

This

While these changes may address a perceived weakness or effort to personalize, I would agree that neither are upgrades.

However, your pistol, your choice ...

Upgrade your barrel & guide rod and trigger job. I have a g22. I added a Lone Wolf ported extended barrel and steel guide rod with varying weight springs. I did my own trigger job.

Shop elsewhere, or just call Glock and ask who locally has the parts.

Get a glock brand connector and the vickers slide stop. The mag release you showed is a gimmick and waste of money.

I tend to agree. The only mod I've ever done is add a Glock minus connector to my new G17 gen 3 to see if it matches the G34 gen 4. Seems pretty close and I think I'll leave it in.

edit: there was a thread here a couple months ago where several people reported issues with the Double Diamond connector. No personal experience but you might do a search for that thread.

No Truglo. Single dot front with a black rear. You'll thank me later. Great budget sight is the GFT 113 by Ameriglo. Less than $40 from OpticsPlanet. If you don't mind spending $85 the Taran Tactical Innovations sight is awesome.

I think you made a wise choice by getting the OEM "-" connector. I think the reason why that connector is not available on the Glockstore website is because the double diamond connector is made by the owner of the company, and he probably doesn't want the Glock part competing with his. The double diamond connector also does some pretty negative reviews over on Glock Talk.

Couple notes on the mag release since i bought one. While releasing mags was way easy, this is what i encountered.

- Uncomfortable - it would press against the palm of my left hand and would create a hot spot.

- Annoying - Would not fit some of my holsters without modification.

I went with the Tangodown mag release instead.

I did a search of the sights you mentioned and checked Amazon for them and I scroll down and it says these are restricted items and cannot be shipped to la county. Very upsetting and hard to comprehend.

I think it's all a waste of money. Unless it's for a real problem to be fixed, I'd leave it alone. Just my opinion.

How is the Taran Tactical sight picture vs a defoor or defoor with fiber optic?

Get a -connector from Glock. I've had one in mine for the last like 6-7k rounds and no problems. It's a OEM part.

The Taran Tactical Innovations notch is 125 vs the Defoor 150, so it's tighter, which I prefer, but not everyone's cup of tea.

As far as the mag releases go, I originally had a Zev, and while it's good for certain holsters and competition, I took it off and installed JP mag releases on my G19s. Lower profile and doesn't inadvertently release like the Zev on my carry oriented holsters that I use (Incog and Sparks Summer Special). They help me keep a good grip while dropping the mags .I kept the Zev on my G21 though, but I pretty much only use that in a Raven OWB.
One of my 19's has Trijicon HD, its a fast setup but I have the Wilson Combat gold bead on another, which I really like as well. A friend has the Dawson Precision FO sights, they're excellent as well.

The oem extended mag release digs into my palm and I find it uncomfortable. I removed it from my G34. I've also seen people inadvertantly release their mag when they grip the pistol.

I also removed the oem extended slide release on my G34 as it doesn't do anything but possibly cause my thumb to engage it, keeping the slide from locking back.

What did you replace them with? The G17 version?
