Default ca legal .22 rifle mods??

Im thinking of getting marlin 795 rifle and getting this stock for it
http://www.bullpupgunstocks.com/
I was wondering if this mod is CA-legal or not?I heard that assault rifle laws do not apply to rimfire rifles.Does that also mean i can have a high-cap magazine for this rifle or not?

Another choise for me would be gsg-5,but my dealer said i can have a high cap mag,he can only get it for me with a 10rd.mag.....I am getting confused with all these CA gun laws.....

10 rounds is 10 rounds... regardless of rimfire or centerfire (unless legally owned before 2000). the bullpup stock would be legal only if the overall length (OAL) is 26" or more for a semi rimfire.

it says that the 10/22 and muzzlelite stock OAL is 26.5"... this may not be the case with the marlin as the length of the action/receiver may be different. you should probably call and confirm.

yup! you just gotta make sure it has a 16" barrel (which shouldn't be a problem) and 26" OAL. how you get there is up to you...

I was looking at the site and they had the bullpup case for the Marlin 60 and 70; not the 795. Will it still fit? Because if it doesnt, then the overall length wont matter. But if it does, and is still not long enough, I guess a muzzlebrake can add length to it.

You can only have a hi-cap for a GSG-5, if you owned the mags before 01/01/2000. The 10rds law applies to centerfire and rimfire, so basically, if you haven't owned hi-caps for the past 8+ years, then you've long misssed the boat on that one. It is highly improbable that anyone in CA bought GSG-5 magazines prior to 2000. GSG-5s only started to come into the country a year or so ago, and did not even exist as a firearm 8+ years ago.

There are no commercially made hi-cap mags for the Marlin 795.

Thumbs down

fine gun by its self. I have a 795 and love the heck out of it. I personally think that it's more accurate than the 10/22. Love the magazines for them too. Don't modify your 795!!!
