Default Calguns Skeet Clinic 12/6

After a summer full of 90+ and even 100+ days, it was nice to have a day that topped out at a mere 78 degrees, though the morning sure started out pretty chilly.

We had six people come out to Triple B's for the latest Calguns Skeet Clinic. The mix was half and half, veterans of the clinic and newcomers. Two of the newcomers were shooting firearms for the first or second time.

How did they fare? Well, they were in the very capable hands of Don Ziegler and Captain Dick, who prove once again that they can take someone who has never touched a gun and have them breaking clays in no time.

The system works. It's simple to learn.

Our newcomers (Justin, Krista, and Carlito) had a fantastic time and walked away with grins on their faces and some books in hand.

With such a small class, our veterans (Andrew, Kathy, and me) had a lot of attention too. There's nothing quite like honing your skills at Stations 1, 2, 6, and 7.

Even as a veteran of the classes, there's quite a bit to learn. I got something new about mounting and being efficient in my motions. Over the course of a clinic, it's not such a big deal, but facing 400 rounds in a tournament... it'll make a difference.

If you're thinking about these clinics, stop thinking and just sign up for one as soon as new dates go up!

It was definitely a good time!

This was literally the second time I've ever fired a shotgun and I left the clinic feeling much more comfortable handling one. Our coaches, Don and Richard, were awesome instructors and really took their time to guide each and every one of us. I also picked up a copy of Don's book so that I can review and practice everything we learned.

I'm planning on signing up for more clinics in the future as it was well worth it. If you're considering trying your hand at shotguns, as I was, you owe it to yourself to attend one of these clinics.

Thanks again to Don and Richard and it was a pleasure shooting with everyone else that was there.

Glad to hear everyone had a great time, as expected. Thanks to EatsEverything for the write-up, and to callmecarlito for taking the plunge on the clinics - welcome to the addiction!

I will post new dates as soon as Triple B Clays confirms them to me.

Good luck and safe shooting.
