Default SoCal Skeet Clinic Debrief : 26-SEPT-2015

It was a beautifully hot day in SoCal for another Sheet Clinic...
Today we had 7 attendees, ranging form very experienced to first time shotgun shooters. We even had an 11 year old young lady shooting for the first time.
The day started out as usual with safety and proper mounting instruction, once done with that, it was off to station 1. After a little instruction on this station, it was time to shoot. Everyone got the hang of this station, and was doing well. The young lady even hit the first target she shot at, the smile on her face was priceless We went through several more stations during the day, and even got to shooting some doubles. Everyone did well and learned something of value, it was an awesome day at the range.

If you want to learn how to shoot a shotgun, or want to hone your skills, these clinics are the best value out there.

Thanks Don for doing this clinic alone today...

Richard, I hope you feel better...

I would like to thank Don and Richard for taking their time to put on these clinics, they know what they are doing...

Wow, was it ever hot today.

Thank you everyone for making this a great day of learning and camaraderie. Honestly, half the fun of these clinics are the friends you make.

Thank you so much, Chuck, for letting me try out your Browning. I'm just as torn now about whether I should go that route, or a Beretta. Or even an autoloader and milk my O/U indecision further.

OC_Gunner, it was great meeting you. I'll see what time I have free coming up and maybe we can hit the fields.

elmontemike, always good to see you.

Oh, and the other thing I love about these clinics is story time with Don. I lost both my grandfathers a long while back so it's nice and none of them were gun types, so it was really great to have that moment today, sitting around Don under the shade tree and listening to him tell us about how he got started shooting skeet.

Great time by all. My daughter had a great time and hit her share of birds. She may have beat me. She just turned 11 last week and did nail the first bird. We will be back many times.

Just wanted to say thanks to Don and Chuck for a great day. Don is not only a great instructor but a gracious and patient host with all of us newbie's skeet shooters. It's great to see a few people from past clinics. Learn to shoot better and make new friends... What could be better. One thing I liked was to see some high level shooter come out and take the class to brush up on there skills. This says a ton about the instructors. I'm a slow learner so every time I go, I learn a little bit more and what I need to really work on.
I will say this, the best part of the day was seeing the look on that 11 year old girl after she would break one of those clay bird and the look on Dons face was yep. She can do it. Dad might be in touble because she really liked shooting. I'll be back... Tons of fun !!!!

You were at the wrong clinic. You were supposed to be with Don ZEIGLER.

I think he was still patient. Just aggressively reinforces his lessons!

Don't let him see you spelled ZIEGLER wrong.

My first clinic he put up with me until station 7. Then he asked me if I had a physical disability while kicking me in the back of my left knee. I says "no", he says "GET OFF, NEXT!"

At the end of that first clinic he says "You are going to be my "SPECIAL PROJECT".

Second clinic he says "Oh good! You came back!". Been coming back ever since.

Nowadays he is the kinder, gentler Don Ziegler I tell ya.

At least one of his loaner shotguns is labeled DON ZEIGLER.

Uh-oh!
Hope it is not his book that is misspelled.
