Default Wild Bill's Gun Shop in Elk Grove

Just wanted to say, this place is amazing. They are located at Grantline and East Stockton Blvd in Elk Grove, right off of Highway 99. Yesterday, I went there to buy some ammo and I was stunned with their huge selection of firearms and accessories. They have a large variety of Western clothing, and leather gear. The customer service was great and very friendly. In addition, their prices were the best I have seen in a while. Just wanted to say, if you have a need for anything firearm related and you are in the area, you should definitely go there.

Are they new? I get up to Elk Grove every once in a while; the GFs mom lives up there.

He moved but hes been there a while. I know instead of turning right to go the gun room you turn left and go behind the building. Hes always been extremely nice and knowledgeable.

Wow. And I go to the Gun Room pretty much every time I'm there.
Note made. Thanks!

Wild bill has been a great alternative to the gun room for me. Very friendly even when he knows I'm coming in just for a transfer. Also had my advantage arms glock 27 conversion for cheaper then msrp online, and there was no shipping! Great shop, great guy.

Brandon is a great guy. In Elk Grove we are planning a Friends of the NRA dinner and we have been having our meetings at Wild Bill's. I bought my Buckmark from him not too long ago. His prices are much better than at The Gun Room and he is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Wild Bill's.

Also, if anyone is interested in helping with the Friends of the NRA dinner in Elk Grove, we are looking for volunteers. It should be a lot of fun. Send me a pm if you are interested. Our next meeting is coming up soon.

Didn't he used to have the shop facing the street side of the building? I noticed it was no longer there a while back, thought he was out of business.

I liked the place enough, bought a winchester m-1 carbine there, unfortunately the customer service was so-so...something that really made me mad...when i picked up the carbine they told me that i needed a lock on top of having a safe, now i at that time hadn't purchased a rifle from a shop in CA for awhile so i wasnt really prepared to argue with them but the lady behind the counter kept saying "crazy California law, hard to interprete, you need to buy a lock from us" but I told her how convenient it was that they didn't mention this when I bought the rifle, because I have all kinds of locks I could have brought from home...home being a hour away I bought there god @#$%^ lock...it's going to have to be a good sale to get my money back there.

I like Wild Bills. I got a Hi-Power Pratical for $650 OTD. It was NIB. I got some 10mm bullets for cheap once because he didn't raise the prices yet. I love the beer signs and taps there.

Dirt "parking lot" and neon signs hanging by the door & windows. Entrance is on the rear of the building. Just about the time you think "there's no gun stor here" you'll see it.

I made it in there today for the first time. My buddy frequents the place and informed me they had a couple hard to find BuckMark mags. I thought they were good to deal with and will be back to givr some more business to them.

In comparison the Gun Room employees were rude and kinda up tight. The guy sold a 357 to an 80 year old lady while I was there. She could barely pull the trigger, but he just wanted the sale. Another customer and I looked at each other like Holly crap!! Unprofessional to me.

I went there for the first time today also. I didn't think I was ready to buy anything, but ended up walking out with a receipt for a used P220 at what I thought was a good price. I don't know the names of the guys who helped me, but they were all very good to deal with. In a matter of minutes after I made up my mind, I had completed my HSC test and they had completed the DROS and invoice. They seemed like a bunch of regular guys that wanted to share the joy of guns in contrast to others who seem to want to stand behind a counter and display an ego.

I'll second the comparison to the Gun Room. The one and only time I went to the Gun Room the employees were more interested in seeing who could pick up and strip a Glock faster than the other. Customers seemed less important than goofing off. Flashy display cases do not make a gunstore.

I've heard great things about Brandon.. While I've never dealt with him directly, he sounds like a great alternative to the folks across the road!

Does anyone know if Wild Bill's is open on Sundays? Will they do PPT's on the weekends?

I am gonna give them a call tomorrow.

Just wondering if the late night folks may have the answer.

I bought my first 3 guns from Brandon when he had the small shop on Folsom Blvd accross from SMUD. He opened a second shop with a range off of Hwy 50.

He later moved to his new location and the previous shops closed.

Going south on 99 take Elk Grove and go back over 99. At the light make a left and another immediate left behind the corner building. He is right next to the truck accessory place.

Default Wild Bill's

I have been visiting Brandon for, at least, three years. He and his staff are very fair and knowledgeable. He takes the time out to chat regardless whether or not you buy anything. He has something for all and if he receives a rare or hard to get item, he does not hesitate to put it out and sell it at a reasonable price instead of inflating the price or holding the item in the back just for special customers. That goes for ammo as well. Nothing against The Gun Room which may be fancier with more paved parking and bright lights, however, somebody has to pay for that. Owners pay the bills with profit margin dollars. All I have to say is compare the prices and, most likely, you will end up at Wild Bill's...

If I was trying to show someone that gun owners are normal, everyday respectable people, this is the last place I would take them to. It looks like a dingy, dimly lit indoor flea-market that happens to have a few guns laying around for sale.

I'm not here to talk-up the Gun Room, but personally I have never had a bad experience there. The Gun Room is clean, well-lit, looks respectable, and they have more guns than I could fit in my truck, out on the shelf and ready for your inspection. A very wide selection of models and makers. Also there is the indoor shooting range there. Every time I have been to the Gun Room both I and whoever I have brought were treated with courtesy and good service. Sure, sometimes they are busy... but what successful business doesn't have those occasions?

But I am all about the bargain too... if Wild Bill's has the same gun I can get at the Gun Room or other retail gun store, for $100 less, I'd give him a shot, sure. It's just that it's unlikely I'd want any of the half-dozen guns he has on hand at any given time. Been a couple years since I've been in there, since he's closed half the weekend and another day of the week as well. Maybe I'll find time for a side trip the next time I visit the Gun Room. Maybe. And give him a look see.

Half-dozen guns? You obviously haven't been there in a while. I'd say there are dozens if not hundreds of guns for sale there each time I have been in lately.

"Half-dozen" describes how many guns I saw for sale on just one shelf... at LEAST. And there were MORE on the other shelves...

I really like Wild Bills. the only downside I have ever found is that the people who work there will answer any question to its fullest no matter how many people are in the store. You might be there to pick up a gun and have to wait for 30 minutes behind some guy asking "9mm or 45" and walks out empty handed.

Some would consider that a good thing others are bothered by it.

You're right, it's been two years... "hundreds" of guns would be what the Gun Room has on display. When I was in Wild bills there were a few guns in a case, and I mean FEW... Maybe he has stocked up since or has a back room I never saw... mostly what I remember from there is "americana" like neon signs and other antiques. I certainly did not see anything particularly "oooh"-worthy. And not any great number of guns, nor impressive specimens.
