I sent $50.00, I've been on Calguns constantly since becoming aware of it recently and have found it invaluable to say the least. I recently finished my first OLL build (on a Calguns lower, of course ) and prompted a good friend to do the same. I am picking up two more Calguns lowers on Jan 1.....all hail black rifle disease!!!

Default I just donated $ and joined Calguns

Hi, I received an email from a friend that informed me about Calguns and this donation drive. I donated $10.00 so it can be matched. I am a California gun owner and will be donating and getting involved every chance I get. I just donated via paypal hahaha. Screw you paypal! Thank you Calguns! I'm really hoping that the lawsuit I read about(Calguns stating that the Gunlist is anti 2nd amendment) will get rid of the DOJ's stupid "handgun list". Thanks again, Flingdangle. BTW, I don't care if My donations are tax deductable as this is a worthy cause.

I just received my first pay stub for 2010 and was pleased to see that my county government employer is honoring my bi-weekly donation to CGF through the United Way Combined Giving Program.
Sweet!

Sweet!
We particularly enjoy sending the 501(c)3 to some of the more interesting matching organizations. One of the funnier ones though was a major cellular phone maker who forgot to sign the matching check...

Not that I'm paranoid ....

I haven't gotten a call for solicitation in the last seven years. Last week I made a donation to the foundation and got two phone calls this week. You'd didn't sell my name and phone number did you?

I made the mistake of sending the NRA some money once ... I got fifty to a hundred pounds of junk mail in the next year.

The mail from the NRA can be halted by simply contacting them. Easy.

Who phoned you?

The Fraternal Order of Police and someone from the NRA - or at least that's as much as the lady got out before I said that I donate my money locally and hung up. Hopefully just a coincidence as I'm on the do-not-call list and always opt-out from phone calls. Once I learned about the opt-out abilitty with the NRA I did that too. My bank keeps giving my information away to insurance and mortgage companies ... complaints go unanswered.

Default Damn

Third set of phone calls in seven days. This putz called me four times in three minutes and I cursed there supervisor out - some telephone research group from 10200 Rogansville Road, Woodland TX, 77380 this time.

This is very worrisome.

I've got some frontsight training certificates that I'm considering donating to Calguns. One question on value - would I be able to claim donation value based on face value of the certificates (in other words, 2K each for the 4 days worth of training)?

Consult your CPA on all of this:

Generally you can deduct the full market value of a donation to a nonprofit like CGF. Exception is if they turn around and auction it off you can deduct the price paid not the FMV.

On combined similar-item property donations over $5k, an appraisal may be needed. http://www.irs.gov/publications/p561/ar02.html#d0e1545

So if I donate to CGF and CGF has a raffle instead of auctioning it off - that would be best for CGF (to get more funds in raffle tickets) and for my tax valuation - right?

With the recent surge in frontsight memberships, I suspect this may be a good way to meet everyone's needs.

Frontsight gets new members
CGF gets funds from raffle tickets
I get a high value donation to a nonprofit
