I'm surprised that a pro-2A group would help support PayPal. I know that PP is widely used, etc. but it seems to me that telling people who want to use PayPal, "Look, PayPal is no friend of ours, we won't use them and neither should you, start using GearPay.com instead and support those who support us" would be a good idea.

And GearPay has about 0 users. If you don't like Paypal, you can just mail us a check or use your homebanking application.

Mailed The CG Foundation a check earlier this week. The benefit of a paper transaction is that the money ALL goes to the foundation, with no question of a credit card or paypal service charge.

How are contributions running? I can see how much you raised in 2008/09 from the 990 posted on your website, but I wonder if there are more recent filings or updates you can post.

Exclamation Need some help confirming donations

Need some help...

Can someone PM me a confirmation that CalGuns actually received my contributions (and if so how much you have received).

Its time to renew my subscription so to speak and I want to make sure you are getting the money I had intended you to receive.

Thank you,
Chief003

I went to donate through my company to get them to match, but when I search by tax id I get a redwood city address not a san carlos address. Will my donation go through with the redwood city address?

That's our old address. It *might* work; what database are you searching?

Brandon,
I'm not sure which database my company uses. I followed the link on our intranet to the company match charity search and typed in calguns. I will look tomorrow and see if it shows what search engine. The company match ends friday so I want to get this in soon.

I know the tax id is the same though

I'd say go ahead and run with it; easier for us to correct an address issue than to miss a deadline!

I am sorry to express some concerns here, but I sent a check via snail mail over a month ago and it has not yet cleared my account. I have used this forum's PM function to ask both Brandon and Brett if it was received, and have heard nothing in reply, which surprises me because I did get reply PMs from Brett when I was having trouble trying to make an online contribution. I subsequently tried to email Brett through the CG Foundation's own mail function and got a delivery failure message even though the copy I sent to myself was delivered. Then I found Brett's email address and sent him a query through my ISP's mail server. I got a delivery confirmation, but I have not yet heard back. Is anyone from The CG Foundation monitoring this thread? If so, could I please get a reply to my question?

I also expressed my interest in seeing the 990s for 2009 and 2010 that should have been filed by now. I can find no evidence that they were submitted. Furthermore, the 2008 990 that was available through the CG Foundation web site a month ago is no longer there. I am feeling a little underinformed.

David Wilson

Is pay by check still working? This is the 2nd time I've had a CGF donation returned now.

Dear XXXXXXXXX:

The online bill payment described below has been stopped:

Payment to The Calguns Foundation from account NNNN for $10.00, to be delivered by 08/19/2011.

We stopped your payment because either you requested a stop payment or it was not processed within 90 days and expired. We'll refund the amount to your Pay From Account within five business days of the stop payment date.

Please review your online profile for this Payee to confirm how any future payments will be delivered.
I verified the addressed used in by bill pay, it is the same as the opening post for this thread.

Support CGF by shopping at Amazon!

Dean,

I am both very sorry and embarrassed for us; my apologies. We've had ongoing issues with the reliability and consistency of mail-checking and depositing of direct-mailed checks. Unfortunately, I'm 160 miles away and cannot fix this, directly, myself, but I can make sure that we improve and remedy these issues other ways. Here's what I've done so far:

* Created a secure donor management system that accepts checks and credit cards online (you can put in your checking info, and it's debited from your account by ACH within ~24 hours);

* Working to setup a "lockbox" service with our banking institutions so that hard copy checks are automatically scanned and deposited by them (I'm hoping this is done within the next 30 days);

* Working to setup outside regular help to pickup mail, sort, and process checks and other items.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

-Brandon
