Default A Few Of My Swedish Bikini Model Friends

My first post after many years of absence.
Anyway I posted these pics many years ago but I thought I'd repost it as they are so purty. Enjoy.

These are sexier than some of the bikinis I saw during my last outing to the beach!

Very nice

Did you acquire them all over a period of time? And where?
Did you apply that sticker to the stock?

Acquired them over time from various locations.

The FSR stickers on the stocks was on the rifles when I bought them.

Starting from the top of the first pic, the first two rifles are CG63s, the middle three are CG80s and the last one is the rare FSR89.

The last 5 pics are of an FSR89 and a CG80 with a custom Hart stainless spiral fluted barrel.

Great collection!

I have a CG-63 that was missing the upper handguard like ones you have shown. I bought it relatively inexpensively because I thought bubba got to it and the handguard was missing. After I received the rifle, I realized that the barrel was significantly thicker than my other CG-63 and have remnant of some adhesives on top. Now I know what it is for... heat shield?

Btw, where can I find a heat shield similar to yours to complete my rifle?

The ones with smaller diameter barrel have the handguard but the thicker barrels are too big for handguards like both of the CG-63s in the pic.

Yes heat shield. The FSR shooters used velcro with adhesive backing and used it on the barrel and the heat shield. You can fabricate a shield out of window blinds. If you have them in one of your windows just cann one from it as I'm your wife wouldn't miss it.

Really nice collection. These target rifles are all works of art.

What always gets me is how could the Swedes part ways with these things? I mean, it's as if there are more in the USA than there are in Sweden. Fairly sure that they don't have collections of pre-64 winchester NRA match rifles in Stockholm.

If those rifles were made in the USA I am sure they would still be here, not somewhere else. What gives- is this a sign of the culture change in Sweden? Did they sell off their fine fine rifles because the younger generation lost interest in shooting?

If I owned that, it would go to a child- not end up in some foreign collection!

When I told my Swedish coworker recently that I have a few Swedish Mausers, he just started laughing and replied "why do you want those old crap?"!

He told me that he grew up in the countryside, and have a very strong firearm tradition in his family. However, except a few that kept their Mausers for sentimental value, almost every one wants the latest "wiz bang" hunting rifle for the annual hunting party. In the big city where he lives now, gun ownership is very abysmal.

Yes heat shields.

About 18 years ago I bought the below rifles from a private importer. One of the best deals I ever made.

Tell us more about your Beanie Baby collection now, SVT! Do the proceeds from that feed your firearm collection or vice-versa?
