this guy is unreal...

"these bills will lower the likelihood of a mass shooting and limit the casualties when such an incident occurs.” what is he smoking???? How the hell is this bill going to accomplish that? He can't possibly be so ignorant that he thinks someone willing to inflict mass casualties really gives a rats @ss about his bill. Are they (legislators) really that stupid?

"Specifically, Yee’s SB 47 will prohibit the use of the bullet button and other devices that allow for easily changeable magazines on all military-style assault weapons, such as AR-15s. Under SB 47, featured weapons would only be allowed to have low capacity (10-round) ammunition magazines that could not be changed without dissembling the weapon. Essentially, bullets could only be loaded one-by-one from the top of the gun."

The weapon is not designed to be used this way (of course)... so when the bolt flies shut on my finger(s) causing injury, do I sue Yee directly? Or the state of CA?

Ironically I'm selling a Saiga (listing on GB)... thought about keeping it because of these "issues" - but I just don't like the thing.

DesertJosh you and some others are right on the money. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.Us Californians have a separate breed on animals leading our State. If anything this should be a lesson to all. Always be prepared for the worst and always assume that our right can be infringed with the swish of a pen. People continue to support the NRA and other gun organizations and don't take your eye off of the ball for a split second by distractions of any kinds god forbid these Bozos will use any excuse to screw us. Wait wait wait wait wait. Am I reading that right? It looks like it says that all guns between 2001 and 2014 will be required to register as "assault weapons." If that's true, does that mean the bullet buttons can come off?

You should look into what people with RAWs have to go through and why many of them have BBed guns that they use and their RAWs are safe queens.

Its never over till its over. You're claiming victory, and we haven't even heard what the Pres is going to say. ABC news is touting a Washington Post survey that says

More than half of Americans — 52 percent in the poll — say the shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., has made them more supportive of gun control

58 percent of Americans support an assault weapon ban.

"Obama has pledged to champion broad new reforms in the wake of the mass shooting..."

That's not mixing words. I wouldn't start throwing any parties about how everything is going to go back to normal in three days.

Well I am laughing too....but not for the same reason you are!

Why laugh at these people?

I say the panic buyers did the gun industry, gun owners and the 2nd amendment a HUGE F**KING FAVOR. How? As the clueless, screaming masses started crying and moaning about grabbing guns for the sake of the kids the nation responded by purchasing anything gun-related off of the shelves, leaving us with barren, empty shelves.

This phenomena showed the country, the world, how much of America's population cares about being able to own firearms. It also served to kick start pro-2A groups like us here to start chatting up support for guns and gun rights, putting everyone into motion.

Sure, there are a lot of Call of Duty noobs, $4K AR selling d**k heads, hoarders and other panic-buying idiocy out there, but as far as I'm concerned they're all potential allies in the fight to protect our 2nd amendment right; something that the whole freaking country seems to have forgotten about in that little document written oh-so-long ago...

Even though it seems like little is going to come out of this whole thing at the federal level right now, make no mistake, gun control is back in the public spotlight like it hasn't been in years and I don't expect that to change any time soon. And if Republicans keep shooting themselves in the foot the way it appears they are gearing up to do over this whole debt limit thing, there's a good chance Dems take back the house in 2014, at which point you're going to see an absolute onslaught of new gun regs that could make '94 look like child's play. I think a lot of people realize this and I think that could keep prices well above where they were for years.

You mean Yee is going to give up? The Democratic super-majority in both California legislative houses won't pass his bill if he doesn't? Governor Brown won't sign a bill if they pass one?

Ensuring that you have a lifetime supply of sport utility guns seems prudent.

"vigorously pursue a meaningful assault weapons ban"...pretty strong words to me...and don't forget this is Obama...he loves executive orders and showing how much power he has...and don't forget he is a PUNK...and he doesn't care about a third term...and like some have said here, I see more anti gun talk then ever this time...lets hope and pray some little retard doesn't go kill a school again...we are on very thin ice here and tragic shootings are not going to stop...if there is another right now, we will be looking at single shot only...and huge taxes on ammo...I can't believe the libtards out there that think making ammo more expensive will stop the mentally insane from killing.

The fat lady hasn't sung yet. Biden hasn't even formally presented his ideas yet & no bills have been presented either. This is not over yet.

Both your senators are big time Democrat gun grabbers - maybe your lucky to have a couple Republican congressmen. All mine are Dems since the "fair" redistricting.
