50 yard Irons: Usmcchet Score-113 (nearly perfect, AGAIN)

15 yard Pistol Rest: 10xhobby Score- 125
15 yard Pistol Offhand: 10xhobby Score- 111
25 yard Pistol Rest: 10xhobby Score- 113

(Excellent shooting all around for 10xhobby)

25 yard Scope: Izzy43 Score-88-4x
50 yard Scope: Izzy43 Score-88-2x

100 yard Scope: surfNshoot Score-54

November Targets!!

25 Yard Irons:
See attachment below.
Take 1 shots at each target (10 total), center bull is a sighter. Center bull is 10, then 9, 8, 7, 6, 5

50 Yard Irons:
See attachment below.
Take 5 shots on each target for a total of 10 shots. Center bull is 12, then 10, 9, 8, 7

100 Yard Irons (back by popular demand):
See attachment below.
Take 5 shots on the target. Center bull is 12, then 10, 9, 8, 7

50 Yards Scoped (YOU MAY NEED TO ROTATE THIS TARGET BEFORE PRINTING)
See attachment below.
This is the KNOW YOUR LIMITS target. Target MUST be shot from the largest circle to the smallest. Stop when you feel you have reached your limit. If you miss hitting one of the circles you will get ZERO points for that target. I don't think anyone has yet to hit the smallest circle. Shoot it at your peril.

100 Yard Scoped
See Attachment.
Take 5 shots. Center is 12, then 10, 9, 8,7, 6,5. Feel free to print in black and white if desired.

15 yard Pistol Target, Iron Sights or Red Dot. No Magnified Optics.
Use the 25 yd Iron Sight Target
See Attachment
Take 2 shots at each bullseye. Score your target. Target may be shot off hand or from a bench rest. Off hand shooters will compete separately from bench rest shooters.

25 yard Pistol Target, Open Class. Use any optics you want.
Use the 50 yd Iron Sight Target
See Attachment
Take five shots at each bullseye. Score your target. Target may be shot off hand or from a bench rest. Off hand shooters will compete separately from bench rest shooters.

For each target indicate your total score and if not already indicated on the target note the distance shot and what type of sights. Ex: Score =xxx, Iron Sights, Scope, Red Dot. No fair shooting iron sight targets with a scope for score. Since we are using the 25/50 yd rifle iron sight targets for the pistol matches PLEASE indicate on your target if it was shot with a rifle of pistola.

Rules:
This is an online match. Print off the targets, shoot where and when you want. Come back and post your targets for those in your face bragging rights!! I do encourage meeting up with other match shooters. Any rimfire firearm is eligible. Shooting from a benchrest, prone, sitting, standing, hood of your car, leaning against a tree is acceptable. Using a rest in which the Rifle/Pistol can be locked down is verboten.

Bonus Points

Here is how it will work. This is only on targets that have multiple shots on one target. We shoot the targets as normal and add up the scores like normal. The twist is we shoot for groups as well. For example, if we are shooting 5 shots on each target. If none of the 5 bullet holes are touching you get no bonus points. If two are touching you get 2 bonus points. If three are touching you get 3 bonus points on up to a maximum of 5 bonus points for each target.

Finally for any questions just drop me a PM and I'll get right back to you. Feel free to also PM me with feedback/complaints/errors I make, etc... These matches are based on “Gentlemen's/Ladie's Honor” so go shoot and have fun.

Oh yeah, We had a Cal-guns meet and shoot at Sac Valley and I found myself at the 50 yard small steel silhouette range having to much fun with the reactive targets. I will be going back !!

The hard part about that kind of target is the first five go smooth but then it get stressful to keep them all as good as the first ones. But they do build the mental part of the shooting. I will let you know.

it's not a scope it's a RED DOT with no magnification. Every one needs to have a 22 pistol, you have all the rifles lol

Tasco Propoint PDP3 or the Bushnell with 4 reticules, are what I have been using. Just make sure they are bright enough to be used outside, I have some less expensive red dots but they are only for indoor use.

this will probably be my only targets this month as I have a match next week and the holidays coming up. Decided to skip 25 this month and focus on the longer ranges.
First off 50 irons with a score of 112 and a +4 bonus to bring the score to 116

11-4-12 (7) by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr
Next up is 50 scoped and it doesnt count and I damned sure wish it did but hey I went for it

11-4-12 (6) by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr
Now to 100 irons and while I have had better groups I can't complain about the score a 58

11-4-12 (5) by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr
Next up is 100 scoped which I am very happ about a 64

11-4-12 (2) by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr
but better yet is sub MOA

11-4-12 (1) by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr
and I found something out the last couple of outtings. My Cz has a inch first shot flyer

11-4-12 (4) by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr

11-4-12 (3) by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr
Now that Im sure of it I can take that into account when I shoot matches

If you don't have time for the 25 yard irons I might have a chance this month...I have a stack of targets with holes that need scoring.

Shot with 10xhobby tonight, what a great guy & holy crap he an shoot!! Not just rimfire either, if you set a half dollar on the group he shot out of my 44mag @7-10 yards it might disappear.

Good times!

Shot the 25 and 50 yd Iron Sight Targets yesterday. Wanted to shoot the 100yd as well but wind was gusting too much.

First up is the 50yd Irons, Score-115. USMCCHET gets me every time on these iron sight targets but my scores are slowly improving. Hats off to him for some (as usual) great shooting).

25yd Irons, Score-97. Doubt I can do better, but I'll try next week with my Kimber 82G. I made two improvements to my CZ UltraLux. Installed an adjustable iris in the rear sight (no magnification). Also I bedded the action in the stock which tightened up the groups.

I have another Kimber on order from the CMP. Gonna put a Weaver T series scope on it and modify the stock to a bench stock then see how she shoots.

Nice shooting!!

How do you all shoot? To shoot my 25 yard iron targets I have been leaning on the bench using my elbow as a bipod. It looks like I need some stabilization to improve my scores. The rules say as long as I am not locked down I am good so one of these little guys should be ok, right?
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/726...-shooting-rest

I also think getting out of the 25 yard indoor range into better lighting will help. It looks like some of you can step off your back porch and shoot...I can't wait until I can get me my own little slice of back porch shootin heaven.

That rest is OK to use and here is what I use for the front rest with a leather protecktor bunny ear bag as a rear rest.

http://www.cabelas.com/benches-rests...h-rest-1.shtml

Some folks spend upwards of $1000 for a front rest but then they are as serious as a heart attack about shooting. I drive 55 miles one way to shoot although I live in the mountains there is only one area I can shoot in up here and it has been closed during fire season since early July, BUMMER! I spend more on fuel to go shooting than I do ammo.

Default 105 twice

Finally was able to get out to Chabot Sunday.

Had a couple others to sort out and thought to bring my 10/22.

It has a Volquartsen barrel and my trigger job, bolt upgrade (includes grinding to .044" head space and radius rear for smooth action) bedded in an old stock of unknown manufacture. Bolt release mod and a Volquartsen Exact Edge extractor. Made my own 20MOA scope base too. Uses my own set screw V-block, Allen take down bolt and my extended mag release. When bedding, I in-letted a tight fitting aluminum insert for the takedown bolt that acts like a piller to dampen movement.

Put on a Barska 10-40 x 50 and used a lead sled.

SK Standard Plus ammo.
I did measure rim thickness and grouped in boxes that all were within .0005".
Did notice small impact change when going from extreme measurements.

50 yards scoped.
Attachment 179008
Attachment 179012

A couple are close to the edge but do touch and I can mail original target if asked.

Shot the 50yd Iron Sight Target today with my Kimber 82G, Aperture Sights and SK Std + ammo. Score is 122. Best I have ever shot with this rifle. Slight cross wind maybe 3-4 MPH.

About time, you've eeked me out for the last several months on the 25 and 50yd irons. Just don't count on me doing it again but I'll sure be trying. Funny how competition can make us (at least me) a better shooter. Wish more folks would join the fun.

Great shooting, lot of stress in that last shot. What method do you use to measure rim thickness? SK Std+/Wolf MT is also my ammo of choice, best for the $$$ going in my opinion. Keep shooting with us, new targets every month.

Can always pickup one of these

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km_wisoLVzk

or I think people have used an empty .223 round case and slide the round in the neck then mesure the overall length. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks, think I'll make one like the Hornady out of hardwood. Should be easy.

Any wood will be to soft for real consistant messurments. Not when you are talking in .001 inch

Default Rimfire case rim thickness

I used a little piece of 12L14 bored out to simulate a chamber. (Actually thought of getting a Bentz chamber reamer to make one) and dropped rounds in and used a dial indicator that measure in tenths of a thousandth of an inch.

Found almost .002" spread in 600 rounds. Grouped first box with the shortest rounds and used these to "foul" the barrel and warmup.

Then marking boxes 2 - 2.4, next 2.5 - 3.0, next 3.1 - 3.5 and finally 3.6 plus.
These numbers were only for reference and have no direct height meaning.

Attachment 179449

Originally thought I was going to sort by .0002" but there is a lot of variation when sweeping over the rim with a sensitive indicator so went with .0005".

Peeps are fine for the Irons Sight Targets, that's what I use.

Once again, very nice shooting. I think that 25yd target is a little busy for pistola shooting. I keep wanting to shoot the pistol targets but always seem to run out of time at the range. Guess I'll just have to make a day just for the short guns.

That target is really hard to shoot, the red dot is shaking all over the place, the sun was in my eyes, I had a rock in my shoe and I think it was snowing. haha lol

I also tried a 3x scope on the Browning Buckmark for the bench rest shooting, not sure if I like it yet. I will try it again next month. Oh yeah izzy, you have to shoot some pistola, but you will have to put about two hours aside to do so, it's very time consuming.
