Naw, just wondered since it seems you're smoking lots of pot if it was legal in Texas or if you an outlaw.

I do not smoke pot, haven’t in years. But.... Last night during halftime of the Warriors/Cavaliers game my mind was a million miles away when this came on the TV. The effect is much more intense on a big screen. If I’d have seen this in the 70’s when I was on Purple Microdot I might be institutionalized today.

For a lightweight budget hunting rifle?

Don't overlook the Mossberg Patriot Vortex-scoped Synthetic.

Maybe just me, but in brown bear country I want something faster than a bolt action. As Paco Kelly says a strong model 92 can be loaded to 45/70 power and a Rossi 92 is dirt cheap (I paid under $400 3 years ago). And then you could buy a more expensive rifle for everything else. I would carry a cheap used 12 gauge pump with slugs instead of a beautiful 30-06 in Alaska bear country.

For anything else but those Kodiak I think a 30-06 is excellent!

I use a tiny .243 for deer and used it successfully for black bear too, but nobody in California has ever been killed by a black bear. And I just chuck a pine cone at them and they run away.

Default TC Compass

Why settle for only one rifle? Get the TC Compass in both calibers for the same price as the Tikka. Guaranteed sub MOA out of the box. Decent trigger.
