Default Heritage Rough Rider .22 w/pics!

Here's the latest arrival! The finish isn't as nice as Ruger's (and that's ok considering that I dropped it about two feet while handing it to my wife. Landed on the top strap and suffered only a small dent) but it's a fantastic shooter. Put ~90 rounds of various manufacture through it this afternoon and there's nothing it doesn't like. The last photo is to give an idea of the size of the thing as compared to an 1858 Remington New Army. And for the record, my Remington was covered in Ballistol in the photo. Its finish is actually quite nice!

Worth every penny!

Those seem to be good little revolvers for the most part and about half the price of Rugers. I'll probably pick one up someday, even though I need another .22 handgun like I need a case of the fleas.

Does it come with a 22Mag cylinder or just 22LR? -g

+1 on accuracy and lr/mag question.

Also, how much and where did you get one since I was considering one a while back.

It's a pretty accurate gun. Some ammo is more consistent than others, but I was getting half-dollar size groups with the occasional flyer. I'll bring home some photos from the range tomorrow.

You can get them either as a 22LR/Mag set, or with only a 22LR cylinder for about thirty dollars less. I ordered it from Buds and paid $198, had it sent to Ammo Bros in Cerritos. They have had big-bore Rough Riders in stock in the past, and seemed pretty intrigued by the rimfire. Maybe they'll carry them locally someday.

They're fun, the one I have is like yours except not blued but done with a silver looking satin finish. I was pinging the steel at quite a distance with that little bugger. Inexpensive, fun, decent quality. It's most likely not the type of thing you'll be passing onto your great grandchildren but it'll continue to fire for as long as you can stand shooting it. If any of you may be considering one, just keep an eye out.......I had one for sale(long barrel version with .22 mag cyl) for $140 but buyer has not responded in 3 weeks to my PM's so I will probably send him one last PM and if he doesn't respond it'll go back up.

A friend's father has the satin silver finish .22 Rough Rider. He tried to blast it with a aerosol solvent, something like brake cleaner, and it took the finish clean off. So be careful with solvents.

I have been after one of the case hardened framed .22LR/ WMR combos like this one:

Quemtimebo,

I picked up that exact model from Bud's Gun shop for $171 shipped! Even includes extra .22 Mag cylinder like yours. Mine gets out of the 10-day jail this Thursday...

I also ordered the 4 3/4-inch barreled version too (also with .22 Mag cylinder).

Both of mine will be wearing the camo-green grips. I already received my first pair - Excellent quality grips for only $19.95... Wow... Their assortment of grips is impressive...

Have fun with it!

Those are great little guns. I've had one for the last 5 years or so. I feel bad, I only paid $50 plus DROS from a buddy. (almost new, no box) Guess I got a pretty good deal.

+1 on all. I have had mine for about a month now and it functions flawlessly. Great little plinker and just super fun to mess around with.

Sorry for the lack of range pics. I took my brother and sister in law+ kids shooting, and we were all pretty much shooting at the same targets. Not really helpful. I seemed to shoot high and to the left at 20 yards, but the grouping was pretty respectable. I'm gonna try adjusting the front sight.
