That proposal has been around for years. Haven’t heard anything new on that happening.

I seriously doubt these Statist pols in Sacramento will ever cede any of their power to a second State where one existed before.

It’s wishful thinking IMO.

One of the chairs of the organization was interviewed on the radio about this yesterday. The biggest and most difficult hurdle would be obtaining state legislature approval. The gentlemen's argument was that the state was already hurting for funding and he thought they could convince the state to release 46 counties to form a new state that would reduce the burden on the state budget. The bigger problem I see is that the Democratic Party isn't going to give up their guaranteed 55 electoral votes at the national level to split that with a state that would have the potential of swinging Republican in a national election.

This is a new split not the north-south proposal that's been around forever.

New state includes these counties: Alameda, Los Angeles, Napa, Sacramento, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, Solano, San Luis Obispo, San Francisco, Ventura.

I too heard the interview on local John and and Ken show 2-6 PM 640AM radio .
The following site gives most of the info and includes a handy map where one can look how to close to freedom we need to travel.
IIRC correctly Sacramento will continue to be part of the s-state. I think the map doesn't reflect it though .

Also the organizer said Orange County will be part of New California. That will work great because new Califonia will send the transients back to old California where they are appreciated and can be cared for. see video in link

As said before its unlikely cal democrats will want to give up the 55 electoral votes and even more important to democrats is the horrible thought that they have no one to continually legislate against ! I would bet even money if this thing gets approved the democrat legislature will go back to part time.

We would be too busy riding around on unicorns to worry about guns.
