Either read the whole thread or call around yourself. Certification isn't the issue.

I have read the whole thread. Still looking for certified people with NRA certs.

PM me if you have them and are in the East Bay Area.

Anyone check Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun for space? I would seem to be a good fit if they can accommodate the club. It's were I shoot when I can.

The club has bylaws that are education and training focused for firearms and archery. This activity seem consistent with their bylaws and is a good community service consistent with their non-profit standing. Many of their members reload.

They would normally rent their club house for meetings but I could see this being waived, similar to what is done for the Tri-valley Fly Fisherman (http://www.tri-valleyflyfishers.org/).

Finally Livermore-Pleasanton Rod and Gun club does have a vendor that sells reloading supplies on sight. I believe they are currently focused on shotshell reloading supplies.

Until a place is found for practical reloading instruction, it may be useful to just meet up at a range for shooting our reloads. I'm in Oakland (hills) and wouldn't mind meeting up at Chabot one of these days.

Just I unsubscribed to this dead thread. I'm new to reloading so I can't help. The experienced people are concerned about liability, as they should be. After all, this is CA. How do other areas of CA do it? When someone comes up with a viable plan, I'll be back.
Out!

I've been getting pretty good with the reloading. I go for highly accurate, consistent rounds and at last test had a variance of 4 fps. Always down to meet up at chabot as I'm in oakland too. Also always down to talk shop!!

J&R Guns had a reloading class back in the first week of December. I've been eagerly waiting for their next class for a long time, but I was headed to Mexico, so priorities...

Anyways, hopefully J&R will have another one. They seem to be every 4-6 months or so.

But as far as a reloading club, I doubt they would host something like that. Livermore would probably be the best bet.

Hopefully this thread gets moving. I've got a Dillon 650 sitting in a box waiting for me to build a workbench and buy some powder, primers and bullets. Got tons of brass that still needs a stainless tumbler.

I might be able to make it. I've been loading 223 and 308 with a single stage press for maybe two years, so I might be able to provide some assistance. What time were you thinking on meeting?

Real short notice but I'm going to be heading to livermore rod and gun range at 11 today(Sunday). If anyone wants to meetup and go to the range and after we can have the first east bay reloading club. Even if you don't want to go to the range Id still like to meet up with talk reloading.

Let me know, pm me for my number. Hope someone makes it out this time- not much of a club all by myself

anyone interested in meeting up on Sunday?

Sunday at 12 in San Ramon. Let's try to get this rolling.... Don't need to actually reload but it would be nice to meet up and talk.

Also going to the range Sunday morning as well if anyone wants to go? We can meet up to reload earlier in the morning and then go to the range after to test. finally got some of those coated bullets that I want to try out.

The East Bay Reloading Club is in its infancy. The first meeting had low turnout, but it was on Memorial Day weekend, so that was likely a factor.

The next (2nd) meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 12 in San Ramon. If you are interested in attending, or just want to receive updates, please PM me (mrbigsteel) or ghettojet.

At this stage we are just trying to get a group together and see what everyone's goals for the group would be.
