Today around noon I was finally able to stop in and check out this place. Nice shop. Ron seems like he's a real-deal, stand-up guy. He had some really nice M1 Garands, and an assortment of other milspec rifles, some even in unissued condition. Good selection of handguns too and what appeared to be some good prices on Glocks. He mentioned that the has a couple of Kimber 1911s he's wanting to offload at cost to free up some funds for other things. I checked them out. One was a Custom II Stainless II with a nice bead-blasted, matte finish, and the other, I believe, was a target model in blue, but I can't remember the specifics of the model. The Stainless II was as tight and smooth as my Raptor II and had a very nice, crisp trigger. Good prices at cost. I think Ron will be able to fill you in on the details if you're interested. I have no dog in this, just wanted to pass it along since I thought it could help out Ron. This place is worth a look see, if only just to meet Ron and chat about guns. One more decent place to add to what seems to be a shrinking list of go-to LGSs.

There are two Kimbers and two Colt Commander Sized listed on the Facebook page with pics.

https://www.facebook.com/armoryoutpostguns

That blued Colt is pretty sweet. Kimber Gold Match II looks good too.

I can't believe he actually has some Glocks left @ $454. I think he still has models 22, 23, 17, and 19 for that price. That is about $45 less than anyone else's sale price. I'm tempted to add a 17 to my one in 30-day pistol queue, but I don't need it.

I need one more rifle he has In stock . I own a mak 90 RAW but I like that S&W M&P 15 the wife got. I can get the same discount on pickup day for her m&p 15 just have to convince her we both need the same rifle that uses the same 5.56mm ammo and we will save money. It all sounds good In my head now I just have to make it all Sound good In her head. Loved looking at that FN 49 battle rifle he had.

Tell me what I need to do or say to "convince" her, ha ha.

Many husbands and wives look for something to do together. Shooting matching M&P15's could be one option. Make a "date" of it, recounting the range visit over coffee, lunch, dinner or a glass of wine? Have a range shoot-off, the winner having to give the other a back rub or foot massage?

P.S. - Thank you for the kind posts. I've enjoyed meeting every person who's walked through my door.

I've bought several guns from Ron and done a couple PPTs there as well over the past couple months. Fantastic store, and unparalleled service. He'll even search for hard-to-find guns to help you complete your cache (or collection... or whatever you're calling it when the wife asks why you spend so much money on guns).

He has three Keltec SU-16CA's left in stock right now (Friday afternoon). Priced at $592 IIRC. Good deal for a sub-five pound featureless gun that folds to fit in a 30" case or pack and comes with two mags.

I was in the shop today to pick up a couple guns that were in jail, and Ron trotted out a few KelTec SU-16CA to show off. Of course I wound up buying one. They MSRP for $770 but he's selling them for less than $600 ... amazing pricing.

Very cool and versatile little 5.56 rifle. It will probably replace my 10/22 breakdown in my bug out bag. Even if you're not into prepping for the zombie apocalypse, this is very neat little gun that is worth looking at, and he has a couple more of them in stock.

Oh, I also noticed today that he has a couple really pretty Kimber 1911s for sale way below MSRP. He said he was selling them AT COST.

If you're looking for a Kimber 1911, head down there. I doubt they'll last through the weekend.

If you folk keep buying everything up there is not going to be anything left for me when I convince my wife we need just one more rifle to match the one she got there last week. We need to be matching so we look good when shooting.

It sounds like Ron can get KSG's for people who want those and has a source for some pretty cool Smith and Wesson 327 revolvers (.357 mag). He is good at finding items that are not easy to come by and at fair prices.

I'll second that... He found a CZ75SA for me a few months ago when there were not to be found anywhere.

Sorry,

I can't find a distributor that has KSG's in stock right now but I'm on more than one distributor's waiting list. I'll post something on calguns when they become available.

Came by and enjoyed Ron's Shop and enthusiasm. Had to purchase the Keltec SU16CA. He has only one left. Will continue to support an outstanding LGS. I see where overtime pay at work is going now...

The wife picked up her paroled m&p 15 from the shop yesterday and couldn't be happier with the whole process except the 10 waiting which we all hate and the shop has no control Over. Other wise Over the Top sale and pickup. Now I need my own. Soon very soon. Shame you can't get this level Of Service at more LGS.

Just left Armory Out Post. Picked up some cleaning supplies and reactive paper targets.
I'm still new to the Sac area. So Ron's place was the 3rd LGS I have been to. Very nice place, privet, low key and comfortable. Ron is a mature gentleman, easy to talk with. My wife will feel comfortable here when it's her turn to get a new gun.

Place is actually laid out nicely, with separate rooms for handguns and rifles.
pretty good selection of handguns more then I expected to see when I first walked in.
Prices were actually Ok. I saw a RIA that was a good $50 less the what I recall seeing it at another Sac LGS.

Will I come back? yes.

I did a PPT over the weekend there. Couldn't have been smoother or cheaper. Transfer fees are low and paperwork is fast. I felt bad not buying one of Ron's Glocks, but this one was PPT and a RTF2 which I "needed" to own.

Just picked up a KSG I found out of state from Ron. I actually felt bad that he charges only $30 for out of state transfers (well obviously not that bad...)

Super nice guy, I'd recommend anyone over to his shop. Great price on Gen 3 Glocks.

Apparently he's got some SA CZs coming in today (I'm not a CZ guy, but most CZ guys are pretty nuts about those pistols).

He already had some last time I was in there and I checked out one for quite a while... nice trigger pull, and the reset is not as long as I assumed.

Checked out a Browning Hi-Power too... not a great trigger or ergos on the BHP's compared to a CZ75 SA... or my CZ40B and Jericho. CZ's and clones are nice guns with good triggers both SA/DA or SA, in my experience.

He had them in when I was there on the 23rd. I just got a CZ 75B sa/da not too long ago. Kinda wish I got the SA only model. Really nice gun regardless.

I'm no marksman, I'm currently struggling with my Glock 17. After some embarrassing groupings with the glock. I'll pull out the CZ, get a few good shots down range, and I feel all better again

What can I say that's not already been said. An old fashioned service that I was looking for and finally found it. He will be my lgs from now on even though I live far from him. Will be buying soon.

I stopped by today to check the place out. I have never seen that many M39s in one place. He had a good selection of South American Mausers on consignment. I didn't really have the budget to pick any up, but I did grab some snap caps on the way out. Ron seems like a great guy and I would happily do business with him again.

There is a custom Bar-Sto/Bo-Mar Browning HiPower Signature model in .40 S&W there on sale, and it is a PPT - no tax, no 30 day. It was $1250 and now it is on sale for $925... it has about that much in custom work. Two tone and sweet looking.

Default SSE with kits installed good to go for transfers

You will have to pay a $60 deposit for the SSE hardware but after it is returned, it is refunded. Ron doesn't have the SSE hardware but he'll gladly accept the gun with SSE hardware installed and transfer. Your mags will need to be blocked correctly by the seller too. Obviously communicate with him first to let him know specifics before ordering something.

I moved to Sacramento from coco county just months ago. The amount and quality of shops in Sacramento is incredible when compared to coco. If you have a gun in mind to buy it would definitely be worth the visit.

I rather deal with Ron. To me, it's not about saving money or what's in stock. I rather build a friendship with a shop/owner and Ron is that person. He's my go to for anything firearm related. We regularly email and talk about range time and it's starting to be more friendship and not just a quick sale. Ron welcomes anyone and everyone. And I am glad to hear he is doing SSE now. If you need anything, see Ron.

Ron and the Armory Outpost are what I wish all gun stores were like. He has too many deals to make my wallet feel safe though. There are Colt Commanders with low low tags on them and Mausers priced to Go Go Go.

Not there anymore. I went in on 10-4-14 and did a PPT on the Browning.
Picked it up today. Perfect PPT transaction. Ron is a fine gentleman, and has a very nice shop! Hope to be a return customer.
Ron, thanks again!

The good times just keep coming! When I went to pick up the browning, a friend of mine went with me. He saw a shotgun that he was interested in and made an offer that Ron passed on to the owner. We came back the next day and my friend did the paperwork on the shotgun.
Had a pleasant conversation with Ron, and the owner of the shotgun, and his wife.

Ron helped me with a transfer from another FFL that took extra long and had a few issues. Ron stuck with it and only charged the lowest possable price. Great old school Service with large store super low prices. Best shop In the metro Sac area In my opinion.
