I get tired & depressed walking in & out of shops both around here, and in the Reno area. It's bad all over. I don't even want to discuss the buying of expensive crap...

That's the only shop I've been to in the greater Sacramento area where the ratio of employees to customers is always 1-to-1 (or greater) and they still won't ask you if they can be of assistance.
It really is too bad, the shop at least looks nice. |

It has been mixed in my experience. Most of the time, the people are great. On occasion, there is the dill-hole that ruins my experience (usually the same guy). I just walk away from him and get help from someone else. I rarely bother with them anymore. On a good note, when they have handguns in stock, the prices are not as inflated as most LGS like RCGE, Cal Tactical, or Wild Sports.

Just an example, when in stock, SBR has M&P for $520. RCGE M&P is usually over $540. When in stock .40 Federal or Armscor is $19.99. RCGE is closer to $30.

Being new and small, I'm also curious what the pricing is on things they do have in-stock.

Everybody varies on different items, Wild Sports had M&P40s for $430 this time LAST year, Sig2022 was $400....those were unheard of prices for back then, let alone now. Screw SBR, buncha dudes who set up shop in the land of deep pockets and jack everything up, though I will commend them for selling rebuild kits, they are outrageously priced

I was there about a month ago, they had a few ARs, some .22 rifles, shotguns, a small handgun selection including some desert eagle. I thanked them for having cal guns info and stickers available, my only purchase was a BB for my AR ($20) , |

I stopped by SBR yesterday to take a look around.. that was about it. Ammo prices there are still high, same with magazines. Besides Tula I don't think .223 was less than $1 a round and their pmags were still $35 a piece. They have literally hundreds of mags hanging on the shelf. Good selection of AR's, uppers, and parts... still expensive too.

Sac Valley Shooting Center has bagged Redline 9mm, 40 SW, 45 and more, for around $21/50. Today. Two bag limit per person, bring the family and go shoot.
(They will not reserve, you gotta go there and don't wait until 3PM...)

I have been there a few times for various things and purchased one pistol there. I have always found them to be attentive and helpfull and one of the better shops. It's clean, they have a good selection most of the time and the one time they didn't have the part I needed they told me where to find it.

You guys need to comedown south to elk grove. MTG in elk grove is by far the best shop around. And did NOT raise their prices, unlike some others in the area. Bobby the owner is hella cool and has a lifetime customer through me now.

There's also the Shooting Shack down Laguna next to that Surf X/Bowling place. Have not been there, but probably a new, small shop. SBR, I went there once and service was fine, however they took a long time to get to me. I dealt with the kid and one of the older guys. Both guys were great, albeit prices are high. RCGE, the shorter, buff Asian guy with the buzz cut. Did not like him. He was rude and abrubt. I've dealt with the tall, buff black guy, the heavier set Asian guy, and one other fellow. They were all cool. Don is awesome too. RCGE pistol prices are great. Rifles on the other hand, I am not fond of. |

+1 for the guys at Shootin' Shack. They know their stuff and always willing to talk about anything. They also have a good selection of C&R rifles at decent prices. Always try to find an excuse to make a trip out there.

Nothing on this place but an overpriced parts and guns. Guns are mostly used/consignment.

Prior to this retarded panic they had some of the fairest prices on handguns and ammo. Their gear has always been highly priced but it's quality stuff. They have never strayed away from the gun friendly side of things (SSE, rebuilds, etc) which is nice to have. Not to mention their sales have always been highly competitive. After the panic, their prices as well as everyone's jumped into outrageous prices. They have somewhat maintained it....I had a problem with it when another gun shop had the same ammo in for wayyyy cheaper. I went to the manager at SBR and straight up asked him why they're upping the prices so high. I finally got a straight answer which I appreciated....due to the scarcity of everything from mags, ammo, guns and some gear they had to cover the cost somehow to stay in business. Now as much as I don't like the high prices I understand business and can appreciate their ability to hold their doors open under these circumstances and still have fair priced firearms. Take it or leave it, just my .02

This. Part of it I'm sure is from raised prices from distributors on certain things, but the other half of the price raise on certain things: I appreciate the honesty from Rob that they are doing it to help cover costs and keep the doors open and employees employed. That doesn't mean I'll buy any of the higher priced goods, but they'll keep my business for their honesty. I've always had a good experience there too.

I've never had bad service at SBR. They have always been quite accommodating.
I bought a gun from them awhile ago, and finally was able to DROS it about 3 days ago. They called me and told me it was ready, and I told them that I would be coming in on my lunch break and wouldn't have much time. I walked in, and we timed it. Six minutes and I was good to go. Those guys have never let me down. |

I have dealt with sbr since they were small, never an issue and actually very helpful. And I do believe they take the non car salesman approach. They will sit back and wait until you ask for help or have the help me look. I respect that, nothing bothers me more than someone over my shoulder.
As for ammunition, they have rarely been the cheapest. I can't expect them to when they have below msrp pricing on most pistols and rifles. Not so much on rifles anymore but not as bad as some I've seen. |

Well I can say SBR has never been fairly priced. I was there before the scare and 223-556 cases were WAY overpriced. $150 over online prices, which too me is way too much. The PMAGs were overpriced along with everything else. Reminded me of Wild Bills, which is a whole other topic... I am more fond of the shops that kept it real and didn't raise their prices through the roof... Pretty bad when fellow LEO's were there and were told NO discount for PMAGs. They lost a ton of business because of that! Ohhh well....

Drosd a revolver there last week. Second time I had been in the store. Paid a good price and was treated with respect. People complaining about prices for anything 2a related right now are crazy. It's to be expected when there are so many people out there swooping everything up off the shelves.

I recently bought a pistol out of state, paid to ship it here, local FFL fees, & CA taxes (for a pistol purchased in another state) All in all, I'm happy. |
