Need anodizing work and gunsmith in San Jose. Suggestions?
I've got a forged AR lower, serialized, store bought (not an 80 percent) that needs a little work. It came cerakoted in OD green. Turns out I hate the OD green but the big issue is the cerakote. This stuff (at least on my lower)is barely harder than effin play-doh! Can anyone suggest a shop that can bead blast that cerakote off and anodize black?
Also, ever see those lowers by franklin armory with the nylon tipped set screw? My other AR (with a high shelf lower) has the wiggles big time and it would be awesome if a gunsmith could drill and tap the lower the same way FA does. Again, any suggestions for a darn good gunsmith (with proper machine shop) in or around San Jose? Oh, can't use an accuwedge because of the high shelf and would like to avoid the O ring trick, k&s expanding pin or those .005 oversized pins. Many thanks! |

Global Plating is in Fremont, and they have an FFL on site who is also a CGN member. They are on S. Grimmer Blvd. at Osgood. So it is not too far up I-880 or I-680 from you. He does Cerakote as well. I have not had anything done, but spoken to others in person who have good things to say.
Good luck. |
