Another new guy
Fresh meet from the Bay Area.. Been out of the 1911 game for a few years now, but it is time to dig the tools back out.. Building a few 80% projects, and hoping to get to the range with one of them soon.... I hope..

Hey folks, new here. I'm more of a lurker than an active forum contributor, but I thought I'd say hello.
I live in San Luis Obispo, shoot an XD-9 and a Thunder 380, and I'm interested (like everyone) in an AR. I'm an avid cyclist, and if became the ruler of the world, the Summer Olympics would include a mountain biking/target shooting biathlon (the Russians have already beat us to it with the Velo Biathlon!) |

Welcome mojo
.22 rifle sounds good for plinking at the range. .22 pistol if indoor range. Maybe post this question in "general gun discussions" section and watch us highly opinionated guys get to work. Maybe add a bit of what you want another gun for to guide the answers. (In before the 1911 fans)

New
Hello all members! I am new here!
I moved from Japan last year and one of my dream is to go hunting and get fresh meat! I tried to find friends who have guns or had experience of hunting around but I couldn't... most of my friends don't like. Then I met this forum. I took class, and got license and bought Tikka T3x rifle by self-education. I hope I can find some good teachers and friends, and some day want to go hunting together Thanks! |

I have hunted, but only pig, which didn't require much "hunting," really. There are lots of experienced hunters here, and i'm sure that you eventually meet some. I prefer to shoot on public land, around people that i know will handle firearms safely. We'll (my wife and i - she is Nihonjin) do some of that on the way home to O.C. tomorrow from Walnut Creek. |

Thank you for the link! I have read this site several times and tried to understand where should I go hunting or when, or what the regulations rules are. I still have no idea and definitely need teacher who have much experience.
Is Walnut creek BLM land?? I would like to go hunt wild pig too. Could you tell me where have you been for hunting pigs before? |

I suggest you ask these questions by creating a new thread in our hunting and fishing section. More hunters look in there compared to this part of the forum and you might get some good info. Good luck

Looks like it's time to join.
Nervously waiting out my 10 days for an H&K VP9 purchase. Wanted a PPQ but given this state... something something gift horse, something something mouth. |
