It is not my design but I was aware of it. As long as this button is safe enough to not allow a finger in (and I have the guy who could defeat the metroshot in my office) I will only make mine in commemorative volumes.

I'll have an update soon. I had one of my prototypes working very nicely at the range yesterday.

I'll post something though my prototypes are protrude farther than the finals will. Also I skimped on the prototypes and they are bare aluminum.

Will your final prototypes less protrude out than the Bullet-Button by Prince50?

I bought a couple from prince and I have a couple more builds just waiting in the safe. Hurry up hoffman, my two last builds are feeling a little lonely. I know from your previous post that you will bring this up to Doj for approval and I would love to buy your product to support our rights.

Will it be necessary for the base to have a tight fit like the Bullet Button Mag-Lock? That's the one thing I don't think I would like about the latter version. Hopefully yours won't need this in order to keep from being able to pull out on the base/top piece and tweaking to the side and pushing back in on the mag catch.

My upper came today, so I was forced to use the Prince50 so I could put everything together. I'd much rather be able to legally change mags though.

The BULLET-BUTTON no longer requires the press fit...It is just added insurance.

With The assistance from Hoffmang, and a redesign to the round nut, the tweaking issue became no longer an issue.

The press fit is just added insurance to protect you from your own state government. It is there to use, or remove at your whim.

Thanks, and sorry Gene for the Hijack, but had to correct the above poster.

Oooo, Mine seem to have been deleted when Calguns v1.0 moved to vBuilten a few years back Here's the oldest I could find, a much more recent post of mine, flirting publically with the issue of bolted-fixed mags in 2005 (keep in mind, this is pre-DOJ-letters, pre OLL, etc.) http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ead.php?t=8092

This thread is also a fun read, again pre DOJ letter, pre OLL: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=16118

Regardless, Gene & others should enjoy the spoils (like the profits will outweigh the liability, you guys should be BOWING DOWN to those brave enough to produce these things!!!), ideas are cheap, it's production and marketing and successful operation that are difficult.

PS: Gene, you have e-mail.

Ben: You know I bow down to your position in the vanguard on all of this. I'm just hoping to help the cavalry roll along behind you scouts.

Tell me about it. I have a great design but. Need the $$ from those that wish to posses the product.

And its a limited run maybe only 50-100 pieces. I'm not really trying to make a killing out of it just want to provide a quality part for those that have faith in me and like my designs.

Gene, I have 2 of Prince 50s' bullet buttons and I am waiting to buy a couple of yours and a couple of Sams' when they become available. That is more than the OLLs that I own but who cares! I may just buy more OLLs or give the extras to my friends and family that are now getting their OLLs. I'll keep the design I like the most. Really looking forward to the new products.

Hoff,

Put me in for four. Although I am going the MMG/U15/Imaginary Pistol Grip route, I would also like a Hoffman Lock so that I can have a fixed 10 rnd magazine in addition to a Pistol Grip-less stock while transporting the rifle.

As someone whose car was searched for firearms at a routine traffic stop (they knew right away that I owned firearms by running my plate and I foolishly caved into pressure and gave them permission to search my car), I know keenly the value of having as much of a safety margin as possible when dealing with hostile law.

if an MMG gun is hard to argue about in court, i imagine that a fixed magazine MMG gun would be even harder to condemn.

besides, having the MMG would mean that I'd be able to use the rifle with standard capacity magazines at the range since it still would not be an AW.

the 10rnd fixed magazine would just be a good idea to have at all other times.

edited to add: oops, would have to disable the hoffman lock while using standard cap mags even without a pistol grip. i forgot about the specific text on fixed standard caps.

There's an interesting thought... if you have no pistol grip or any other evil feature, but do have a fixed magazine, does a 30 round magazine make it into an assault weapon?

Please look around on our sponsors' sites that sell parts. You want a "Bullet Button".
