I am a huge fan of the woodwork though, what kinda wood? How did you shape it? And anymore pictures? Would like to read some more about it.
I fired the CQB-16 for the 1st time in this stock yesterday morning. The stock is very comfortable for me, and because it's more of an inline stock, the recoil impulse pushes back more than back and up. The stock is a USGI E2 made in 1969. Never issued, never finished. All I have done is sand & smooth it, while removing the orange colored Iodine based protective coating applied in '69. The wood is Birch, and this one is full of character including tiger stripes. I'm sure there are "prettier" stocks out there, but this one is mine.

I finished sanded it yesterday afternoon, then rubbed it smooth with steel wool before applying the first of 5 or 6 coats of Tung oil last night.

Dry

Tung oil

California brothers. Two of my M1As.
The top one is my first M1A that I got in 2001, it is highly customized. The lower one is my second M1A I got in 2004, a Standard and bone stock.
The magazines I owned legally before the ban.

I love me some M1A. Just came back from the range. Shot my Socom II with a Burris scout scope. Dropping dimes at 200 yards. Well not really dimes but bowling pin heads and no bullet button to f with.

Updated pic of scout, sorry cell phone only for now. Added a JAE stock, Primary Arms 4-14 ACSS. Also, fortunately my local gunsmith is a retired Marine armorer. He rebuilds M1A's with his eyes closed. He tuned, smoothed and lightened the trigger a bit. Much better... Next I'm going to shoot the **** out of this barrel then replace it with a nice match grade.

Grade A M14 kit from the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) assembled on a forged LRB receiver by Ted Brown in Jacksonville, OR.

Damn Milsurp that's a sweet looking M14. I'm seriously thinking about getting a M1 due to all this current silliness.

Question. For the Socom M1a's, is the stock muzzle attachment considered a flash hider or comp?

I just put a deposit for the M1A standard rifle. Is that good for someone starting up? How does that compare with the loaded, solcom etc...
Thanks!
