Default Couldn't Resist 1943 M/39 Sky

Even though I am in the camp that the Milsurp Bubble Is Bursting this M/39 checked off all the boxes for me.

First off its a Sky.

All matching receiver, barrel, bolt, and magazine.

The receiver is original stamped matching not dot matrix importer stamped.

The stock has the correct 1943 Civil Guard Cartouche.

Has civil guard district number stamped on the barrel.

The finish looks to be original.

It has a cool Finn Repair and is a Wartime Stock.

Not mentioned in the description, but it is built on a 1896 Tula Receiver making it an Antique (doesn't matter in NJ still has to go to FFL01, but adds cool factor and helps in other states).

Bore seems good, no counterbore which is normal for M/39.

Best part of all price was only $430. Less than what Burns was selling them for years ago. I think it is another sign of the drop in Milsurps especially Finns. I hope the prices continue to decline and more buying opportunities like this one present themselves.

I don't have my own pics yet but here are some pics from the listing.

Very nice! An antique SKY is on my short list of rifles I'd like to get. Especially one without the dot matrix. I hate the dot matrix import stamp.

Great price. He says "No CA bids" so he limited his market a bit and he is a new seller. Good deal for you!

You'd think Sk.Y M39s would go for more, they didn't make very many in the grand scheme of things

I didn't notice the no CA Shipping. Definitely not smart.

Why is it that so many that sell on here also put no shipping in their ads? I thought most sellers were referring to in state shipping, but many won't ship period. Is it payback for all those who won't ship to California ?

Very nice, capt.

I've got a 1942 Sky and love it.

A couple months ago Burns was starting their bids at $799 for Antique Sky M/39 on gunbroker with mismatched mags. Even 6 years ago they were asking $450 on their site.

They don't have any Sky now but they have an all matching Antique 1943 SAKO with little finish left bid at $405 buy it now $550. A couple months ago their buy it now was $100 more. They have a like new Antique 1942 VKT with mismatched floor plate bid at $255 buy it now $750. Curious what it sells for. I doubt $750.

Prices have certainly dropped on Finns and most Milsurps except oddly the historically cheap ones like SKS, Swiss, and Swedes are up in price.
