Default my pos computer died again

My thread from a few months ago talked about my computer crashing and the horrible customer service from Frys. Well I'm on vacation and my lap top died... Again. Attempting start up repair but nothing is happening. It never ran right after Frys got a hold of it.
To boot, my new iPod is corrupted.

So, where should I buy a new laptop from? Best buy sucks, Frys sucks. I'd like to buy from.a brick and mortar store so I can have customer service.
I live in the ie if that helps pointing me in the right direction

Short of buying an Apple computer, you're not going to find a good place with a local customer service center to take your laptop in.

Just purchase a Lenovo, Thinkpad, or Dell and pay for higher tier warranty so you can get fast turnaround times on service when you have to ship it in.

Funny, mine just crashed this morning. It's been trying to do startup repair all day. I'm using my wife's computer. I'm so mad right now!

Sweet. I only buy cheap junk and back up a lot. Comcast's package of virus etc. has worked very well, even exploring the outer edges of the web. It is a Norton product.

Actually, there are 2 choices if you prefer a store:

1. Sony store. You can buy your laptop and another Sony products from their store, there's one in Valley Fair Shopping Center if you live the Bay Area.

2. Microsoft. Yup, they sell laptops now, Surface Pro. Just make sure you don't accidentally buy the wrong one, called Surface RT which uses a ARM processor. They' too have a store in Valley Fair.

If you're looking for something with a little more power and style, Sony VAIO line of laptops are nice.

Costco sells laptops too, not sure about customer service and support though.

I buy all my computer needs from newegg; check out some of the laptops on there. I suggest these laptops: Asus, Lenovo, Alienware, Dell, or Apple(but not really for gaming)

unless you're living in a very small room, do not buy a "gaming laptop". The money you spend for an even half way decent rig will be leaps and bounds above a comparable desktop model, and will still have over heating issues.

You can buy a decent laptop for office work and a decent gaming desktop for the same price as a passable gaming laptop.

I might go back to a VIAO. I had one and it was GREAT! It slowed down after a while but that wa my fault for loading it with junk. The problem I had with it was that the plug for the power source was actually a seperate little peice that was held on to the computer via a flimsy peice of plastic. So it came lose, eventually broke off where it was hanging on via electrical wire and then eventually, the wires broke. I had that lap top for like 2 years and it was great. I see the new designs are lighter (that viao was heavy) and doesnt seem to have the same design flaw

I bought an ASUS from best buy. second day, it crashed with a blue screen of death (this was just before I bought my current one and with win7. I thought the blue screen was gone forever!!!). BestBuy goons couldnt fix it and gave me a new one which ran ****tier then started giving me the blue screen. I demanded my money back and thought Frys would be a better bet.
I had a friend with iBuypower. He said they were Alienware performance without the the Alienware price. What say you guys?

19" Rack-mount here, but if you don't want an industry standard case, or a place to throw a few HDDs, Dells seem to run forever, at least after the Cap-plague ran it's course... i7's:

With the sony, I can do the payment plan, the ibuypower I cant. Well not unless I want to apply for a department credit card because I'd be getting it from a contracted place. that Ibuypower isnt even show on their site.
Any other recommendations? I'm not a huge gamer but would like the option if I could

There's your problem. Gaming laptops burn themselves out. They are not made for the heat that they produce. If you want gaming get a desktop. If apart goes out it is easy to replace.

Gaming laptop? No such thing.

Buy a gaming desktop and a Macbook pro laptop for non gaming stuff. Can't afford both...you have a decision to make.

What the hell are you doing with your laptops that they burn out that fast lol,

I would buy from Amazon... I got a 499 Asus from them than Bestbuy had on sale for 600...

You can also get a pretty sweet Mini Mac for home use... and a i5/i7 laptop from Amazon for around 600 bucks...
