I have a Adams upper. I have the 14 in upper with the mid length piston. Ar first I was having issues with underpowered ammo. Less then a year later I got a 16in stainless fluted barrel from Riflegear and now it shoots PMC like Fed brown box. I do admit it's front heavy but what piston isn't. I do have to say that a really enjoy shooting the rifle greatly.

What I had!

added this w/ a battle comp

now this

enjoy yours

Don't have an AA upper, but I've used a few of their retrofit kits and have one on one of my SHTF rifles.

How's the felt recoil and cycling of the AA piston upper?

My first AA was basic m4 upper with standard polymer handguards. I upgraded to Danial Defense 7" omega rail and thought it was very well balanced. Think about it for a moment. The weight if heavy compensator or variance of weight from different buttstocks affects balance much more than the 2 extra ounces or so added mid barrel by the piston components.

My second AA was a custom I built on an 18" stainless WOA rifle length barrel with a rainier arms xtc comp and troy's top rail only freefloat tube. It shot like a dream with minimal recoil pulse. Very accurate.

My next AA upper will be the midlength evo ultralight or similar. Ive always shot pistons with an H2 buffer and been very happy. Ive shot many none AA pistons as well but I come back to the AA for lower cost and flexibility of non-proprietary rails.

Have a Mid-length that I bought through Western Sports online. I have had it for a couple years now. No issues what so ever.

I also built a 7.5 pistol with the AA kit. It came with the carrier key replacement. <<BAD>> replacement key bent and broke the drive rod. I called Adams Arms and they sent me a one piece carrier and replacement rod. At no cost...AWESOME!!! Since replacement of the one piece carrier I haven't had any issues.

Great Company and their products are great...

i read on the internet that it was hard to get replacement parts for a piston. This must be completely false as you are referring to a piston. Please get your story straight. We all know it is hard to find piston parts.
