Absolutely. I don't care how many bells and whistles it has. A decent laptop is not even close to that price point.

I'm 65 and I don't even have a cell phone, or what anyone calls them these days. I have an antique land line. Cheap, and it even works during a power failure. If I need to send pictures I do it via email, the "old" way, via modem.

One can find many pistols (maybe not in Kalifornia) for a lot less than that. One might have to do a bit of gunsmithing to get it to run right. That's the fun of this hobby.

There are some on Calguns who would agree with me. The vast majority are into bling, worrying about minor scratches on TOOLS, and probably have their guns as BBQ guns or safe queens just to show them off to others, and probably hardly ever shoot them.

I grew up in a different era.

Jim

Funny. Not much smoke with smokeless powder. Lots more fun than texting with a mega-buck phone.

You want smoke? Go to BP ACW era pistols.

The newest phone will be obsolete in a couple of years. Talk about money going up in smoke...

Did you walk to school uphill both ways too?

Sorry I had to...

Smith and Wesson Performance Center Model 41. For those that mentioned the CZ75TS, it is well worth the money.

I'm on board with Jim - pretty sure anything I fork over $1000 for isn't going to be worth it once I walk out the door.

I could be convinced to "invest" in something like a Ruger Bisley Hunter and a stack of ammo, and be able to sleep at night. That should be south of a grand, and at least provide me with smiles throughout the remainder of my natural life.

I'm doing just fine w my 6s+, and I don't want to have to stare at my phone to get it to unlock...

Actually some of us have held positions with Apple for a long time, dividend residual checks pays for their cráp.

Between that and apple product resale values always have new tech and a fresh battery , but the new watch is what intrigues me . Make and receive calls without carrying your phone.

Colt 1908 Vest Pocket .25 ACP in minty condition. Value will only go up unlike a glock.

But I'll also still get the iPhone X

I'd look for a good deal on a used Desert Eagle.

A new P239 in 9mm.

I’ll probably get both though.

I don't get this need to keep up with the latest iPhone models. In a year, everyone else has the same model, and they get it for some $50 or for free. But I'm also the kind of guy that would wait a few months before buying a new gun model to let the hype and prices come down.

I find my iPhone quite annoying. Wish I can go back to the days of land line phones where people can't reach me when I want to be left alone. Need to reach me? Send a courier
