With respect to banning BRRC from posting invitations to their matches, what earthly good does that do? Or, to put it another way, what's the harm done if BRRC posts such invitations here? |

SMGC did not want BRRC using their link at 'California Shooting Clubs and Organizations' to notify interested shooters when they were having up-coming NRA registered & unregistered events. And that is their right!
However, Calguns.net will not provide information to BRRC on how it can obtain the same 'California Shooting Clubs and Organizations' status as SMGC has. If you know of another way to disseminate this information, to Calguns.net competitive shooters, BRRC (and probably other shooting organizations) would like to hear it. However, giving Calguns the benefit of the doubt, maybe they would rather not be the conduit for this information. "And that is their right!"

SMGC initiated the request after multiple announcements were made under the SMGC heading by BRRC, or Members thereof.
BRRC is quite capable of having their own forum to make announcements, SMGC is merely trying to keep any confusion about their schedule from propagating further. Point of fact, it was a friendly request to BRRC to properly post information without inducing FUD at SMGC by using their own forum, not a "ban" as you are alluding. There is no anti Club conspiracy going on, nor is there any heartburn within either organization to the other. Once again the request was made to assure clarity within our respective organizations. Thank you for your attention, John Hermsen, President SMGC |

I am confirming that John is correct. The request was a friendly interchange between clubs to help clarify match schedules. The two clubs both run monthly schedules of high power rifle matches some of which overlap dates. There are times particularly during the rainy season when schedule and cancellation notices for one might confuse activities at the other. BRRC and SMGC are good neighbors providing highpower competition opportunities in Los Angeles and Orange counties respectively. We all know each other and many of us are just as at home shooting tournaments on either of our ranges.
BRRC match schedules are posted at www.brrc.org and there is a BRRC Yahoo Group -- the link is on the BRRC website -- used to manage sign up's for BRRC's matches. We invite all person's interested in our club's shooting programs to visit our website. We will inquire with CalGuns as to what is required to obtain a forum here to post future announcements. In the meantime, please use www.brrc.org to view our match schedule. Dennis Santiago Vice-President and Activities Chairman Burbank Rifle and Revolver Club Castaic, CA |
