Can you even sell a pistol lower that isn't a full build and changed to featureless because of California's latest assault ban

I don't think you can. At least not in state.

Yes, it is a frame only. Just like you can still transfer a Glock frame that someone *could* attach a second handgrip/shroud and/or threaded barrel to making it AW.

And there is no featureless pistol - it is fixed mag only if the mag well is outside the grip *and* the pistol is semi auto.

And OP, ~$350 is probably the number. I don't know that the price has changed much even after the AW acquisition period closed. They are still desireable to people who made pistols from 80's and now do not want to hassle with serializing and registering those even as non-AW, and who will use them as fixed mag.

Wasn't aware you could transfer only a glock frame either. I was shot down multiple times trying to get a timber wolf frame. Had to be a full build but also apply to the roster but I guess as a PPT thaf coils change things. Good luck

Handgun receivers/frames are not listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale, which means they can only be legally transferred via exemption (LEO sale, PPT, etc.).

For what it's worth, I was able to successfully PPT a complete pistol lower w/ bullet button (which doesn't matter since there's no upper on it). DROS paperwork listed it as a handgun, and the "Receiver Only?" box had a yes on it.

As for value, I traded a Sig P220 for a complete hardened arms lower w/ a Sig brace. I can always get another P220 down the line.

How do you put a hardened arms lower on a pistol?

Plus airfare from CA and back; rental car; hotel; food. Not really a bargain.

$350 sounds about right currently, it's cheaper now compared to two years ago when people were buying them up before the 2017 deadline, I saw the average lower receiver go for about $500-700, at that time I was looking for one like a hawk and willing to pay that premium but they were getting snatched up fast within minutes of seller posting. Instead I ended up buying a factory complete AR pistol by Adams Arms, the seller had bought it for $900 at Turner's in 2014 when they were doing single shot sled and I ended up paying a premium $1200 for it in 2016 since it's off roster.

And to those asking, yes you can still DROS AR pistol lower because it doesn't have to be built in to a AW, it could be built with fixed mag, or no gas/piston, etc. As for Glock frames, I just DROS a Glock frame last week.

Reasonable price?
You do realize this is Calguns?

Just a few months ago, didn't someone buy a $1500 Glock Gen5? And other $500 stock, off-roster polymer guns routinely sell for double.

The market value for a pistol lower in CA is whatever the buyer is willing to pay/trade for.

Of course there's always extremes on both sides of the spectrum, we've all seen ridiculous $1500 Glocks actually sell in the marketplace but there's also good deals, I've seen some Glocks go for under $400. But both cases are rare.

God bless Texas and the rest of free America! I don't know how you Cali boys do it. I would have lost my mind a long time ago.
