Default So now that Valkyrie Arms is gone, who can single shot me a Sig near SF?

Bsically see the title.

Now that Valkyrie Arms has gone away, who in the bay area can single shot me a Sig Sauer?

I really don't want to drive to Fresno or Sac.

Thanks!

They really did have all the best SSE parts...

Metal Dog Tactical in San Jose can do some but i have not contacted them. Peter at MP Arms has SSE Glocks in stock but when i had asked him if he had parts for other guns he said he had a limited selection.

Metal Dog Tactical.

Pete at Mount Pleasant Arms does SSE some Sig models.

You can try Tracy Rifle and Pistol also.

Tracy Rifle and Pistol has a pretty good reputation and they're more than willing to SSE. Fair prices too.

Look here. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...383692&page=17

There was a large group buy for HK45C on hkpro, so hopefully buyers who were hoping to use Valkyrie Arms for SSE are reading this thread. I already relayed this info to the FFL in Texas running the group buy.

Among the three shops listed in this thread does any of them do SSE on say, a Springfield XD-s?

Tablerockarms.com

And what happened to Valkyrie? I don't feel like reading through 7 pages.

Bite the bullet and buy an extra barrel for your gun and have an extension welded to it.
If that's too much to spend, than don't expect too many shops to single shot handguns for you. That's what it takes.

That's not horrible, all things considered. Toughest part will be finding barrels for newer guns where the manufacturer hasn't started selling OEM replacement parts and nobody is making aftermarket parts yet. Plus if you donate the barrel to the FFL afterward, it passes on the SSE goodness for anyone else trying to get the same gun or any gun compatible with the same barrel.

I've actually contacted Metal Dog Tactical, they can't do it.

I'm now looking for SSE parts.

Valkyrie had the absolute best rig, SJGunGuy made it, but I don't think more will be easy to make.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for who could make a single shot barrel?

Agree with Aspec5vz, give Ryan at Table Rock Arms a call. A little more shipping, but all goes smoothly. He'll do the Walther as well.

Using Tablerockarms.com was a painless process and I recommend giving him a shot. He's cheaper than Valkyrie too...by a lot.

Metal dogs do SSEs for 1911s, Sigs, Glocks and Springfields.

MParms do SSEs for Glock Gen4s, 1911s with barrel bushings (bull barrels coming soon)
Sig 226s, 220s, 229s, 228s, 239s
XDM's (all sizes/calibers---no XDS)

Tracy rifle and pistol are doing the SSE on my BG 380. They told me they do them on most brands.

It doesn't sound horrible until you start adding up the costs. Another way is to get a threaded barrel and a fake can. You'll need to remove the mag catch at pick up and reinstall it later. Some guns that's not very easy and once removed, some stuff doesn't go back together as well.
Also, how many guns do you want to stock barrels for? When the XDm came out we had to pull the barrels from one of each, so that's close to 1800$ right there of stock that sat for 2 years because there were no barrels yet. Those weren't the only guns like that either.
I found a better way but not every shop that does SSE transfers has the tooling and a guy like me with free reign to come up with solutions to these problems. I can't tell you how many times we'd get customers asking about a gun they wanted with no mag lock avaliable.
So far I don't think there was a gun that I wasn't able to make a mag lock for.

Oh, I meant not horrible for a consumer looking for a one-off SSE to pony up the money to buy the barrel. For an FFL who's constantly getting hit for one-off SSE requests for different guns, I'd imagine it'd add up rather quickly. My thought was that a buyer who really wanted a particular gun could also buy the barrel and give it to the FFL for use on his gun, then let the FFL keep it as a way of helping out the FFL and any other potential buyers of the same model gun. I think you and I are in general agreement on this and I'm just stumbling over my words.

It is hard if it's a brand new gun that the manufacturer isn't selling barrels for yet, or a small batch production gun where extra barrels will never become available.

Unfortunately I have interest in both categories

SJgunguy24 really does have the best solution of any of the single shot FFLs I've spoken with. Pretty much everyone else has a one-barrel per make/model solution, where he came up with something that can work on a one-barrel per caliber basis.

All we need to do now is convince all the other FFLs that they need to hire SJgunguy24 to make their single shot conversion parts also.

I wonder if there would be a market for that kind of thing ?

I would personally buy a set of them, but someone in the outgoing team of folks at Valkyrie ran off with them, and they are not returning calls or emails.

Last I heard. Table Rock shut down their operations around June. I'm not sure if they're back?

Has anyone found an FFL who will SSE a S&W Shield in the SF Bay Area?

I haven't yet, but if you find one who needs to buy/make the parts to do it and just hasn't gotten enough orders to justify the investment, I'd be down to pool some funds with you to secure the parts if that's an option.
