Default CA DOJ Withdraws Proposed Regs Expanding Apps of “Assault Weapons" def.

I received this email from NRA-ILA as i am sure most of you here have
""California DOJ Withdraws Proposed Regulations Expanding Application of “Assault Weapon” Definitions"""

I have tried to make sense of which of the issues on this page this might pertain to, and can not figure it out. Can someone please explain in English, what this means???

guess my search abilities suck. at any rate, read all that, and it appears we now have 50 or so opinions on what the withdrawn regulations really mean. So as usual I guess we just sit back and wait for all this crap to play its self out.

At this point I am so glad I bought another home in AZ. I am keeping all my registered AW's here, and all the new BB registered ones here (depending on how that plays out) so they can pass to my kids. I will keep all the fun stuff in AZ.

Not to be a pain pain in anyone's ***, but not all of us are law students or eat, breath and live as this on a regular bases. i realize there is not always an easy answer, but most of these threads evolve into everyone's opinion on what the impact is and how it will be interpreted by the court, and so on. Maybe there should be a "legal section for dummies" with a very basic description of the update, regulation, or law.

I found another thread that makes a little more sense. Do I understand it correctly, DOJ withdrew the regulation that required us to register our BB guns??

Or did it remove the regulation that made BB guns AW's??

We don’t know what changes are being made, if any changes will be made and resubmitted. We don’t know anything at this point other than the deffinitions were withdrawn and it is all speculation as to what it means.

Those that registered have our hopes it means the B.B. can go and stock button replace it, but we have to wait and see.

The only thing that is clear is the hate of so called assault weapons was strong enough to make them act impulsively and create a one hell of a clusterf**k

Duplicate, as noted, and this particular aspect is not litigation, so wrong forum.
