Default Armslist score

Well maybe not a actual SCORE, but not too bad a deal. I just got back from picking up a Russian Nagant revolver and a Polish M44 off of an Armslist ad. The revolver is dated 1939 and looks fresh from it's rebuild. The M44 is from 1952 and is beat to heck on the outside, but the bore is pretty good with sharp lands and what looks mostly like dirt in the grooves. Included in the deal was fifty rounds of 7.62x54r hunting ammo and a bandolier of 8mm Turkish ammo along with a bolt tool and an extra firing pin.

I wish I would have picked up a few of these Nagants back when they were $89, but I didn't, and now, like everything else, they have gone up in price, the same as the M44's. Anyway, I got both of them for $350 which I felt was a fair enough deal in today's market.

I need to take some time tonight and clean up the M44 and repair a minor crack in the handguard.

I'd say you stole one of them at that price as either one of those would likely go close to $350 on its own. Nice pick up

Great deal. Yeah those Polish variants usually go for more than your total!!

Beautiful refinish job on the Nagant... Do you have any of that oddish ammo for it?

I dont own a Nagant revolver but I like them for one fact, when you pull the trigger the cylinder closes forward on the breech which creates a good gas seal.

Thats a good score, they look good and the price was great.

Its also a good score for another reason, Ive contacted sellers maybe 20 times on Armlist for items I wanted, and even made most of the contacts within minutes of the listings, but never once got a reply of any kind. I gave up trying.

I know what you mean. I called the seller about the Nagant revolver that he had listed and he took a couple of days to get back to me and then he was talking about some M44ís he wanted to sell rather than the Nagant. Then it took another day to meet up in Cabelas parking lot. He has three more M44ís he wants to sell @$150 each. I am sitting on his contact info to see if I can raise some extra money and pick them up. Unfortunately, I currently have three other deals in the works on guns that I want more than a few more Mosins.

I have to say the OP overpaid for those pieces. Fleeced, hoodwinked, and bamboozled.

You know, my typical infantile response to any great deal that someone else go to before I did. If you will all excuse me now, I am going to go pour myself a frosty mug of haterade.
