UPDATE:

Some general information for those that are not familiar with the range

Range information:

http://www.wegc.org/wordpress/

Directions to the range:

http://www.wegc.org/wordpress/?page_id=9

The range is private, but we usually have enough members to take new people as guests. If you are thinking of going and are not a member, please post here, we'll try to make sure we can get you signed in (cost for guests is $10 for the whole day)

Since the Axis vs Allies rifle competition was so popular last month, lets do an Axis vs Allied handgun competition this month!

I thought there was a monthly shoot for NorCal too? I recall seeing regular threads. Maybe it's still ongoing but they don't really post about it anymore.

I'll be there, see you guys on the 14th

Allied vs Axis pistol shoot would be great - any chance anyone has the RO's contact info? The only downside to that is migrating everyone to the pistol side....I'm wondering if they'll let us set up 2 steel targets at pistol ranges on the rifle side near the main desk.

Volley fire too

Who wants to do a Cold war NATO vs Warsaw Pact rifle shoot in addition to the pistol shoot?

I'll text Daniel today and ask. We'll have to make sure they're angled down though at that short of a distance (like the steel targets on the pistol side)

Im in as usual and bringing the steel. someone bring a big caliber last time the maxim machine gun took chunk of the steel and the .50 cal pierced a hole. this time hoping to see more holes or break we need to eliminate it.

Dang that is a mangled piece of steel. You have an appetite for destruction!

I have some things that may work.

Yeah and worse they were still 6 hours south of me. Is hardly call it northern california. That whole bay area is smack dab in the middle of the state.

Dang it i miss these shoots, just got a "new" webley too, among other things. Of course that's my weekend to work and i haven't done any reloading in 2 years.

Plan to get some time off toward the end of this month or early Feb and get my act together. Hopefully make it out to the next shoot. Miss you guys.

Mind if I bring one of my broken plates and could you cut a new hole into it on the bottom side when you have a chance? We could use that as a beater plate going forward once a new hole has been cut into it that can be hung upside down.

Bring it i take a look at it. i shut down AR500 steel production for the time being start back up in the summer but if its a simple cut i can most likely cut through it. bring it up i be there around 8ish

I am in for sure, if somebody wants to join us but is intimidated by what and how to do it this is my offer to you. I will meet you at the sierra Fwy exit and load your stuff in my Rav 4 and take you in and get you all set up. So now you have no excuse not to join us.
Doesn't matter if you have a very rare C&R worth a lot of doe or a humble beater . Besides some kind of C&R i am also bringing my new 150 dollar savage 64f 22 rifle.Personally i love mongrel old guns. That 1944 Mosin 91 30 with pitted metal and a stock with pealing shellac that you have is perfect.

Cant speak for the weather for this weekend, but if you have access to a truck or suv i suggest you bring it. Heavy overnight rain got this shooter (im assuming) stuck this morning.

Dang it took me three years to get a old friend to come down from Isabella and shoot with me Friday . all set to go and they closed the range to limited members for one day . We were going in a jeep and would have been fine crossing the stream.
Talk about bad luck, see you all Sunday.

A foot or less will be fine. If anyone wants to attend and doesn't have a truck/SUV, meet me at the turnout before WEGC and load up in my truck at 8:30. Look for a white GMC Sierra. Feel free to contact me at eight one eight 482 9910 if you need a ride. I will have 2 seats available.

For those that miss the 8:30 ferry, there will be another at 9:30. Please be advised that there is no cell phone reception at WEGC.

I'll be bringing the Maxim again, as well as a late Jinsen 40th series Arisaka T99. Last ditch, I bet it shoots well!

Latest Update:

Just talked with a range officer:

"Creek was a foot deep today, might be lower tomorrow. No problem to cross for most vehicles, Trucks or high profile vehicles recommended"

I would suggest that you DO NOT CROSS in a normal car, we have two people with trucks volunteer to meet you at the creek to take you across at 8:30am and 9:30am.

Please look at the post above for details

See you guys tomorrow!

I did not want to deal with unsure stream condition.I thought dumpy was going until he found out the water was high and my son in law bailed out late Saturday night. So i did a 200 + mile motorcycle ride up the coast. i feel bad by not supporting our get together every month.I crossed the stream in my Rav 4 last year when the water was pretty swift and i had my doubts i would be lucky two times.
