Default Thread Adhesive

Hi,

What type of thread adhesive do you use to mount a scope base, I'm thinking something like Loctite, if so which product?

Do not use the red loctite unless you're willing to use a torch to remove the screws at a later date.

Don't ask me how I know this.

Loctite blue...

or Vibra-Tite VC-3 - ADM provides this with their mounts, it's good stuff... you can re-use an application - IOW, when you remove the screw the adhesive is still in place and will continue to hold upon reinsertion of screw (without additional application)... it doesn't dry hard (like Loctite) - it's kinda rubbery/malleable.

I would use the Vibra-Tite over Loctite, but all I have are several small sample packets that come with ADM mounts... it's a little messy once the packet is open. Eventually I'm going to get a bottle of it.

Vibra-Tite's website won't connect to the VC-3 product (at this time) - but here it is anyway: http://www.vibra-tite.com/

Amazon has it (and I'm sure you can find it elsewhere too): http://www.amazon.com/Vibra-TITE-Thr.../dp/B001VXRM5Q

Also, Sig Sauer included a sample pack of some type of thread lock in a P938 I got a while back... I can't remember the name of the stuff and I haven't used it - but they were promoting it... I'll get the name when I have a chance (I think it's in the case)... it looked similar to Vibra-Tite VC-3, but had a different name... but Sig is notorious for re-branding product - so it could be the same stuff.
