Default Spotting scope recommendations

Hey guys,

looking for a decent spotting scope that won't break the bank. I know people say not to buy sub $100 spotting scopes so I won't go there. But I do want something preferably under $300 and ideally around $200 at most.

From a bunch of browsing I decided to go with this one

I'm assuming it should be ok?

That spotting scope can work for you. What type of distances are you going to be using this for? I guess, what are your expectations? That is a quality spotting scope for the price. I don't care much for the table top tripod however. You might want to consider a full sized tripod like the Nikon Slik.

I have head nothing but good things from people with the konus 80 spotting scope. When people ask for recommendations on an inexpensive spotting scope, it always seems to be the one most recommended.

Good choice on the Konuspot 80.

At $300, I believe you can get into a Bushnell Excursion as well. Fantastic spotter in a compact package.

How effective a spotting scope works depends on how stable it is. I agree with above to look into a fullsize compact tripod. Slik tripods would do very well in this case.
