Benelli 828U Sporting

Benelli added a few new guns today, 828U Sporting, Performance shop 828U and SBE3 performance shop. Kind of surprised about the new 828U models. I thought their venture into the over under market was kind of a bust. Haven't heard many glowing reviews of it, must have sold well though.

Just frickin great!!! Looks like I'm in the market for another O/U.

I have the original 828U and it's a great gun. I don't have an issue with it at all. The only thing I did with it was take out the spring in the trigger group that resets the safety when you open the action. Took less than 5 minutes. But now since they have this new version with a 30" barrel......

Yep. I wonder if there are other features that really make it worth what they're asking for. Probably not, however the gun performs exceptionally well. I have a 686 silver pigeon and the 828U and while the silver pigeon is an outstanding gun and of course has a great history, Benelli may have caught on to something with their 828. For me it swings beautifully being that it's so light. The only downside for me buying it is not knowing its durability. So far I am pleased.

I’ve never fired the original one just thought it was light for clays when I handled it. This one is over 8 pounds so I’d really like to shoot it. I think they’re definitely beautiful guns.

Beautiful. Not sold on the big SPORT emblazoned on the side though. But I could probably get used to it.

When I just went to add the Picture I realized the Cordoba isn't on the site anymore. Wonder if they're discontinuing it.

They don't allow you to view just the cordoba page, but it's still available.

Benelli has its following, I get it. But, given the mixed reviews of the original 828U and the price tag on the new Sporting version, I think I'd rather go with a well proven gun. You can get a Browning CX for less than 1/2 the price...

Had one and didn’t care for it, to chunky of a gun. I’m used to semi autos which I think just made it seem so big and kind of uncomfortable. Sold it on here a couple months ago. I wonder if a lot of people find that out after they get one because the CX/CXS/CXT have definitely been the most common over under in the market place here.

^Brownings don't fit everyone. They tend to beat me up. I tend to shoot Berettas better. I think it's partly due to the cast on the stock.

Yup, I replaced it with a Beretta and love it. There was nothing wrong with the browning it worked fine just didn't feel right.
