Default first long range bolt gun

I want to purchase a Remington 700 PSS and McMillian A4 stock with Badger mounts and detach. mag. Will likely use my Leupold 3x9 tactical for the optic and parker hale for bipod. Any thoughts on this setup and recommendations for gunsmiths to smoot out the action? Thanks for the help.

all of you guys got me beat.

Nothing fancy here: Remington 700 Police chambered in .308 Winchester, with a 10x side focus Super Sniper on a Harris bipod.

Excuse the messy workbench, I just pushed everything aside to get the picture.

the P shoots very well right out of the box. my P is my favorite piece i own. i took a 4inch water bottle down at 500yards on my 2nd try. this rifle will hold at least a 1moa. a good handload will get it down some more.

i'll tell you after Sunday. I literally just got it yesterday, threw the bases, rings and scope on and eyeballed the reticule. I'll worry about the boresight and reticule leveling at the range.

I'm pretty excited about sending some projectiles downrange this Sunday.

lol. I really want a scope with those. I was going to place a Leupold Mark 4 M1 6-20x40mm scope on it but decided that would be way overkill for a .223. I like the look and features of the SWFA super sniper, however, I'll never own one due to their warranty policy. I'm planning on swapping out the VX-1 for a VX-II 6-18x40 AO target model with the target turrets. That is the ideal scope for a .223 precsion rifle. It has all the features of the SS at under $450 and has the Leupy no qs asked warranty.

Thats what is so great about leupold. You can order one with that reticle or any other reticle you desire for around $100. That only puts me slighty over the SWFA SS budget while still giving me Leupy performance.

I'm sorry if I heard wrong. I've heard they let you hang after a year of ownership and only cover manufacturers defects rather than accidents, fire damage, ect....

Either way I still prefer the Leupy model I've found. I'll get it when I find longer range locations to shoot at. For now, the VX-1 works fine for 100 yards. I used to have the stoney point target turrents but they work horribly on friction adjust scopes.

While I can't comment on there warranty, I had a small problem with a recent order. The customer service was A+.. The staff was very friendly and helpful.. Good people..
