Default CZ 455 varmint scope options

Hello all, I just dros’d A CZ 455 varmint and was wondering what you guys suggest for scope options. Was looking at some vortex 3x9 or something like that. What do you guys use. Also thinking about getting the 17hmr barrel for it as well.

I like the Vortex better than Nikon. You can go cheaper with a 2x7 Crossfire if you'd like.

How far are you planning on shooting? Good optics are worth the investment.

My 455 American wears a Nikon rimfire, my 452 Varmint has a Leupold VX-II 3-9x33 Rimfire CFR. The Nikon is very good, the Leupold is smaller, lighter, and clearer, plus has AO - and cost twice as much. I also have a couple VX-I 2-7x28 scopes on 10/22s. Leupold has dropped both models, jury is still out on the replacements.
I've been eyeing the Weaver Classic Rimfire 3-9x32. To my eye, the 3-9x40 scopes look a bit too large on the CZ, and bolt clearance may require tall rings with one. YMMV.

On range I’m thinking 100-150 maybe messing around further. One thing for me is it must be a mil dot reticle. I prefer hold over rather then messing with the dials

Looked at the Nikon bdc 150 but will look into the cheaper vortex scopes. I really like my diamond back and my father in laws viper hst but I feel those are both over kill. I’m not looking to shoot super precision but minute O’ squirrel at 150yds or so hopefully.

I bedded the barrel, installed a silencer, a 20 MOA base and a Leopold 6x18-40 AR mod 1 scope with a Mil dot it works very well.

I have it sighted in at 185 yards I can shoot from 50 to 280 yards with out adjusting it by using the mil dots.

Shooting Federal match the top post is good for 50 yards
top dot is 85 yards
3rd dot 115

2nd dot 135

first dot 160

then zero at 185

going down

first dot is 205
2nd dot 225

3rd dot 245

4th dot 265
top of bottom post is 280 yards

By adjusting it I can put the cross hairs on target at 400 yards.

This is a great rifle.

Any other mods to the gun other then bedding the barrel? Never would of thought even tapping steel out to that far with a 22. May go a little bigger on optics and go from there.

Gonna stop by sheels in Reno in the AM and see what all they have. If I can’t find anything there I will stop by a Sportsman’s warehouse. They carry a lot of vortex optics.

Probably mediums in both BLKS or Zee, there's a great thread on the cz/bro section of RFC with scope/ring fits in the stickies.

So I went with a vortex diamondback tactical with Nikon a series rings. The bolt slightly rubs if I pull up on the bolt. I like the height of the scope and all that but don’t want a beat up $300 scope. Should I switch them to high rings or add a 20moa base?

It it might rub off the bluing or chip the scope paint. Maybe you need slightly taller rings. With my CZ rifles, I just chose from the long list of scopes that pair up with your rifle, all that great info is at RFC in the CZ/brno thread. The Leupold CGZ mentioned is a common choice, although I prefer more magnification for shooting flies past 30 yards.

I run a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 with CZ 11mm dovetail rings (.63" height). No clearance issues.
