Thumbs up Colt Python picture thread!

Other Colt "Snake" series are welcome as long as it has that awesome looking vent rib (Anaconda, Boa, Diamondback etc).

I don't own one...yet
So I need to live vicariously through all of you!

ETA: I want to buy a 6" Colt Python in any functioning condition. Give me a heads up if anyone is selling.

Posted elsewhere; my custom Colt Python....

Action tuned by Bill Laughridge using his "no stack" mainspring
Elliason front and rear sights
Chamfered chamber mouths
Smoothed trigger face and bobbed hammer spur
Hogue rosewood grips

I took three service pistol championships with this revolver in the late 80's.

This one I acquired from a CalGuns member a few years back...

The Market Place post for her came up on the main board at around midnight...,

That was when you could post anything at any time on market place threads...

Well, everybody who was up was all over it... oogling, wowing, slobbering... and, and...

...and I just couldn't STAND IT NO MORE... I was getting all protective and, and...

...and she just HAD TO BE MINE...! - There was just simply no other way!

Colt Python 6"

That is exactly what I want!
Do you mind sharing what kind of deal you got on her?

I started saving my pennies, but it is going to be a while.
The most I've spent on a single gun up until now is probably around $1,100...a far cry from the $1,500-$2,000 I'm going to have to lay down to make one of these bad boys mine.
I wish they still made them so I could get a deal on them through Colt (I work for an FFL), but I think they took the last custom shop only orders on them in like 2005...before I was even old enough to own a gun lol

sigh, i have a 4" Colt King Cobra that I purchased in 1986, got about 50 rounds put through it and I keep it locked away in my safe now, mint condition, but these Pythons put it to shame had a chance to buy one too back then and passed, HUGE MISTAKE on my part

Ok lets build this thread so we don't have to keep going to the colt Forum for kicks.

Can we rename this the "Colt Snake-Gun Thread"?

I've got a 4" Diamondback .22LR from 1978, as soon as it gets back from the Smithy I'll take a pic or two of it, it's a bit banged up though... But it doesn't matter, I'll be shooting it quite a bit

I also wanted to see a size comparison between the D-back and the Python, I know the D-back is smaller but I don't know by how much exactly?

I wanna see the comparison between 4 inch and 6 inch barrels for both models!

Default Colt Diamondback 22 LR

This was from a run of 2200 Diamondbacks in 1978. The Stocks were bought by me from Eagle grips at Las Vegas gun show in 2004.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA - I was wondering how long that would take.

(umm, I'll delete it since it was sellers photo - but can you see how I was able to get it at a reasonable price? DON'T TAKE PICS OF YOUR FOR SALE GUNS WITH A CELLPHONE CAMERA! )

BACK to COLT OP

Ran into this one the day they put it into the display case. Knew it was going to disappear if I didn't act immediately.

I'd love to find some factory wood grips, but I'd love to find a 6" model even more.
