I'm about 85% certain that I'll be in San Diego for a buddy's going away to the Navy party on the 30th, but if plans change I'll be there with a rake and a few dozen trash-bags.

Gotta try and get some .44 boolits before then too.

It seems like most of the trash is within 20 yards of the firing line, shouldn't be too hard to post up at one end and clean out to the piles of crap people shoot with pistols. Or, go clean one of the smaller areas off to the side if nobody's there, doesn't matter what section we clean, we won't get it all, but if we can make a dent then shoot some guns it's worth it.

I was out there a week ago Sunday and it was a zoo. The normal shooting area was full of people (no where to set up to shoot there) and a few other areas had people shooting too, made it tough to even go find a different spot nearby. Place was a mess too. Dang shame.

My current plan is to be there w/ my new to me Mini14 on the 30th or 31st. If the main area is packed like last time though, I'll be in my favorite hidden spot nearby.

Access to the spot isn't car friendly, we usually do a little 4x-ing to get to it and after the storms, i bet it will be worse.

Going to head out there tomorrow to test some reloads. Should be leaving Thousand Oaks around 1-1:30, if you head out there I'll be in a green Land Rover, and impossible to miss, stop by and say hi.

Will take out what I can, have space for a few bags of trash in the truck. Anybody know of a friendly spot to dump the trash out that way? Don't want to sand-bag on some random restaurant's dumpster, and don't want to drive back to TO with a gunny-sack of shells in my passenger seat.

Who says I have a car ;-)

Sorry I have been out of the loop people. Long story short I got sick from people at work spreading there germs and have been very busy as there has been unseen things that have popped up keeping from doing anything...I dislike it but it will work out soon.

As far as I have been going to Rattlesnake Road, it has been pretty bad but we can just try and make it better and clean what we can when we can.

Is this place still legit to shoot at? What's the latest status on the mess up there?

I was out there today & couldn't believe how clean the place looks.. altho thats in relation to how it looked when it was REAL bad. There's a still a slew of casings on the ground (but a LOT less than there was recently) but most of the *targets* have disappeared.. only one shot to hell TV, no boats, only 1 pallet with paper targets stapled to it.
I'd say 90% of the trash/targets have gone & probably 80% of the shells/casings.

I was out there yesterday and some knuckleheads lit the hill on fire and bailed. We stayed and called it in, but I hope that this doesn't get this place shut down. It does need a good rake sometime soon.

Best we could tell they were shooting steel core or some kind of incendiary, one shot and it ingnited. It was too quick for anything else.
