Yea, but what datum? Elevation above "sea level" is a funny thing. I can show you references to a point that says it has three or four different elevations above "sea level." Although the elevations vary by more than 10 feet, all of them are correct! It really depends on what datum you want to go with. I know, +/- 10' is probably close enough for you.

Not quite the same question, but do any of you notice strange things with your POI at Angeles due to the incline? Whenever I've zeroed something on a level range, if I take it to Angeles my shots end up a bit high, and I thought that might be due to the uphill shooting.
Thoughts?

The incline will depend on whether you're shooting from the bench or the ground. On the bench it's trivial. I'd say less than 3°.

Ya, I do too, but I make my correction for angle and dial for true horizontal range. Targets are generally pretty big, minimal correction if any at all.

Also OP... why not just use density altitude, assuming you are calculating dope?

Oops edited cuz I was wrong, got my thinking backward somehow...
If you are shooting uphill or downhill the shots should be highlow. Possibilities for hitting high are pulling shots up due to bouncing of the system, air density being lower due to weather and altitude effects, distances to target being different between the two places, and temp affecting bullet speed, as well as uphill angle.

Edited to add: At Angeles, the uphill angle is about 6° so for instance my 6 creed POI would change by .4 inches at 600 yards. (from 62.2" drop at 0° to 61.8" at 6°).

For a 308 at 600yd, the difference is .4" (96.9" drop at 0° to 96.5" at 6°, and for giggles 80.9" drop at 30°).
Calcs per applied ballistics.

It's actually the opposite. If you're shooting uphill/downhill, your shots will impact high. You dial in less elevation.
